Crysis 2 vs. Crysis 2: PC and Xbox visuals compared

Mar 16th 2011 11:49PM (Joystiq)
Thanks for playing, Xbox, but you've failed to convince me. Keyboard preference aside, I really don't like playing on devices where I'm relying on someone else to do the upgrades. Why not? See above.

Sony files to dismiss 'Other OS' class action lawsuit

@ShadowXIII

Benefit of PC gaming: You own the platform. Companies have a limit to which they can pull their BS when they have limited control over the ecosystem. I can guarantee that there will be no new update from Microsoft that suddenly kills my linux partition, and they will not be telling me which third party software I can install.

@Itchyfinger

I think you're getting confused with Alien Swarm, though I certainly would not argue with a free release.

@Ellimem

For most android phones that statement would ring true(er), but have you seen the level of defense Moto put on the processor to prevent people from running custom roms? Motorola is trying to destroy the meaning of an open source phone while keeping the term around for PR.

/offtopic

It is ridiculous that modern companies can claim that people own anything with the gargantuan tangle of strings attached. I bought this software, and I'll install it on as many machines as I want, thank you very much. Or, more to the topic, I'll run whatever homebrew I want.

NTP awakes, sues Apple, Microsoft, Google, HTC, LG, and Motorola over wireless email patents

Aug 12th 2010 10:16PM (Engadget)
@Steve Jobs Clone Google doesn't need patents. It can just block its services to NTP until they relent. That would be an amazing legal strategy.

QuakeCon: Rage coming to iPhone, running at 60fps [Update: now with video!]

@Shadsy They were having performance problems on the wii, so they tried the same game on the iPhone and it ran fine.

CDMA iPhone in engineering tests, may arrive in January, says John Gruber

Aug 11th 2010 7:10PM (Engadget)
Verizon has already tested its network by way of the Droid and company. I don't think the iPhone will break it.

HTC's dual-mode CDMA / GSM Android slider with 1.2GHz CPU headed to Verizon in 2011?

Aug 7th 2010 2:15PM (Engadget)
Who knows, by 2011 these might not be very good specs at all (that'd be kinda nice, actually). I thought HTC had given up on slider phones by now, what with the Evo and all. We'll see.

And yes, dual core would be friggin amazing.
