ESRB rates Game Gear games for 3DS

Feb 3rd 2012 1:05PM (Joystiq)
@EIranzer It’s on an unlicensed cart (meaning that it had Tengen's bypass chip that unlocked the NES to allow play of games that didn't meet Nintendo's strict standards), that doesn’t mean it’s not an official game—it carries an official Sega license which makes it an official Sega game. The Famicom FFVII wasn't the result of a license from Square, it's like those fan "demakes" you see online.

ESRB rates Game Gear games for 3DS

As hard as it may be to believe, there are actually Sega games on NES (courtesy of Tengen--responsible for the superior version of Tetris that was quickly pulled after Nintendo released their own version). Perhaps most notably are Shinobi and After Burner. Just some fun trivia, I think.

New Alan Wake confirmed, but it's not 'Alan Wake 2'

It's going to be a continuation of the story in the form of... Alan Wake Wars!

Max Payne 3 lives on in two new screens

Mar 30th 2011 1:11PM (Joystiq)
I don't doubt that this is going to be a quality game, but I'm worried that this won't have a true Max Payne feel to it without Remedy's involvement (especially Sam Lake... the dude knows how to pen a great noir inspired story).

Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica HD ports coming to NA as downloads this fall

I would have preferred a physical release, but this works... I'm happy we're getting it. Hopefully they're reasonably priced (like, Code Veronica for no more than $10 and RE4 for no more than $15).

Duke Nukem Forever delayed

Honestly, I welcome this news... too much stuff coming out in May.

Ubisoft offering Beyond Good and Evil soundtrack for free

Mar 8th 2011 1:56PM (Joystiq)
@PointlessPuppies I never played the game until the re-release and found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. At 10 dollars, it's hard to question whether or not it's worth it because you're getting more content than many 60 dollar games offer. Sure, it has some dated visuals and the camera can be awkward at times, but with how good the rest of the game is, it's easy to overlook those shortcomings. I'd hate to shamelessly plug my review here, but I could honestly talk for quite some time about all the stuff I loved about the game... and since I've already done that in my review, I might as well just post that. If you really want to know my honest-to-God opinion (as someone who never played the game til now), you can check out my 4 page review here:
