Only nine FF games represented in Dissidia, Kefka spotted in new trailer

Aug 3rd 2008 12:11AM (Joystiq Playstation)
And here's the link:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329668

Dissidia: Onion Knight is voiced by Jun Fukuyama, Cloud of Darkness is Masako Ikeda and Kefka is Shigeru Chiba. There appears to be a chessboard looking system, in the new trailer but it is unclear if this is an intermission mechanic between stages or if it is something similar to the Sphere and Licence grid systems. Might be more of the latter. Sephiroth is also seen in the realtime ingame engine for the first time. Golbez and Exdeath show up at the end and don't have any game or story scenes in the trailer. The demo on the show floor has Warrior of Light, Garland, Onion Knight, Tidus, Squall and Zidane as playable characters. When playing as Tidus, the Otherworld BGM is used. When you win a battle in Dissidia, you appear to gain equipment items, so although there is no equipment menu in the demo it's probably a part of the game.

A better source is Neogaf, who have confirmed about the other characters in the game that Lance just mention about. Yes there will be 10 characters and once that comes truth, you'll have to change your article. I'll keep tabs for reference!

Love the designs in the game and I'm glad Namco is bringing it here! All we need are more Tales of games to make the jump out of Japan.

I bite with this, as I like that they are using kanji and the likes.

Nintendo files lawsuit to curb DS piracy

I don't think they are going about this the right way, as there are many variations of R4s out there. I think that game crashing cards are a better way to curb it, although it won't be a solutions.

I don't think this will help much. I like the idea of game crashing cards instead, as you can't fight the many variations of R4s out there.

Good to hear. Slow start but sold good in the long run, just like Mario and Sonic.

So it begins: Feminist gamers decry Sony's Fat Princess

Jul 29th 2008 9:06PM (Joystiq)
I'm a female gamer as well, and I can see that this game wasn't meant in the way these feminist are going at. I understand differing opinion, but I find these types are the over sensitive types. Its just not anything malicous about this, IMO. I also feel like some are just not informed enough or looking for any little thing to nitpick about.

NPR takes a condescending look at stories in games

Jan 10th 2008 2:33PM (Joystiq)
It always saddens me when I hear other gamers beat down on game stories. Open your horizons and you'll find great stories in games.

For me, reading, books, movies, and games are all in the same boat. If one doesn't interest me, then I don't care for it and vice versa. All in the context for me, so of course I believe that all those mediums are comparable with each other.

One's trash is another's treasure and art is subjective. We are the future, and we see these things now and can keep the ignorance down.
