I don't think it's a matter of being desensitized overall.
Of course games and movies can desensitize you to the gore and violence itself, but I really don't feel it desensitizes you to the sadness and resulting outcome of such a thing in real life.
If I see a guy severely wounded with a massive chunk of flesh hanging off with blood pouring out; it's not the sight of the loose flesh or blood that will make me feel compassion, it's the fact that the person is hurt and in pain; and at risk.
Being desensitized to violence and gore itself isn't a problem, as long as you have a good morale compass and are aware of the saddening outcomes of such acts then you'll avoid these things in real life.
I'm a PS3 gamer, I just can't get on with the 360 pad, lots of stuff about the 360 just puts me right off, I like PS3 and actually don't want a 360.
But this game looks very attractive to me, I won't get a 360 for it, but I'll probably borrow one or something, cause I gotta play this.
I reckon it'll be on 360/PC exclusively, then they'll port it over like 4-8 months after. If they haven't announced anything like that about 8 months after I'll have to borrow a 360 and put up with the controller to play it...
