Honestly what it was about DA2 was it didn't have the same feeling, or spirit I guess, as Dragon Age. The first DA really felt like an awesome adventure, I was captivated, it reminded me of old school dungeon crawlers with modern flare. The world was believable and so were the characters, it was outstanding.
With DA2, I truly didn't care about the story, the characters or ANYTHING. At all. The world just didn't feel alive, it felt hollow and empty and there were so many reused elements and places. You couldn't really explore that much either. The only thing that was better was the combat. The item system as well wasn't as good as 1. Overall I was immensely disappointed, I traded the game in right away (something I never do) but I regretted the purchase. And of course, that's going to turn me off to Bioware. Beforehand, they were one of my favorite devs, but I guess when you have an experience like that it changes your views. I'm most likely going to play the demo first, with high hopes!
I probably shouldn't say this but im very skeptical about this game. ME2 was almost perfect, but bioware really let me down with DA2. Just the general direction they took, and it kind of changed the way I looked at Bioware. Hoping this game is better than 2 though, and most likely, the save file would be for DLC
@bimmy That sucks too, Breaking Bad is best enjoyed with absolutely minimal knowledge going in. Trust me I've had some major things spoiled to me by stupid Tumblr gifs...
That's the power of interactivity. It really is great how much of an effect video games can have on people. As a Psychology major I would love to go into graduate school and do research like that, I feel like video games have a great capacity medically. Hell they helped me with depression, and im sure they've helped plenty of gamers too
This is pretty sad. THQ has always been sort of a big player. No where near EA's worth or Activision but they gave us Saints Row!! (And Spongebob: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman)
