The games industry operated just fine for decades with used game sales. This is just a convenient scape goat.
Pre-order incentives can blow me. We all know that retailer exclusive content is pure garbage anyways. Pre-order shenanigans / DLC are really out of hand this generation. Seems there are no bounds to publisher greed.
Shame that Ubisoft is crippling the definitive version of an amazing game.
Instead of investing all this time and money into DRM and then the servers to host the DRM, they should throw it up on Steam with a pre-order deal for like $24.99.
It's hard to believe that suckers would go for a free piece of throwaway content which hinders the ability to trade or sell the game. Also infuriating is the concept of digital game items such as armor or weapons have real world monetary value.
But judging by the first concept I can see where this is going.
I think it always asking a lot to assume that the target Beatles demographic would not only have a current gen console but also have the space and know how to connect a gaggle of plastic instruments to it.
Couple that with Activision pooping out three Guitar Heroes a month and you have a genre that is played out with the core audience and asking too much of the potential Beatles fanbase.

Pachter: Natal more than $50 after all, DSi XL won't sell
Feb 26th 2010 9:52AM (Joystiq)If MS is betting on artificially raising the price of Natal just to try and throttle the potential Arc/Wand customers then they have lost my dollars.
