The new design has basically destroyed a lot of what thesixtyone.com was great at - community. They've dumbed it down and made it a WIN for style over substance. I've been part of the site for a few years now and there's been minor tweaks - some bad, most of them good. This is a major tweak which has upset a lot of the old userbase like myself.

I can understand the fresh wave of newcomers citing the praises of the site, but not realising it was so much better. Artist interaction was flawless and it helped the community grow. Now? I'm not sure at all.

I think this is going to be a victory of sorts for them - they get more of a userbase, but they've decided to sweep the carpet clean of the very people which helped the site become what it is today.

A sad day.

That's a pretty horrible thing to say. You wouldn't mind people losing their jobs? The videogame industry is getting a bit of a pounding due to the current climate and your flippant view frankly disgusts me.

It's nice that you obviously enjoy seeing studios and the livelihoods of developers suffer. I hope they survive because it's never good for developers to hit the wall, but it seems like the people who comment on this page bay for the blood of smaller devcos.

Very, very promising - looks like they're using the new Unreal Engine with all that horde stuff to good effect. I can imagine the chainsaw duels will be a great multiplayer addition (as well as using enemies as shields).

They've re-used plenty of assets there...

Should be an interesting leap as there's been some improvements to the Unreal engine - although I wouldn't be surprised if it's more of the same. I don't think Epic want to alienate the fanbase with something completely different.

My only wish is that they sort out the squad AI so it's more intelligent - too many times did Dom get in the way of me shooting stuff. Not many games (if any) get squad AI right so fingers crossed!

That'll be the guy whose been working with the Bizarre community for a couple of years now. Do you guys actually do any research at all? You make him sound like some kind of fake with those quotation marks - I'm sure he'd appreciate that.
