Space Giraffe video will melt your brain

Oct 16th 2006 4:47PM (Joystiq Xbox)
umm, not to sound like a nay sayer against Jeff Minter's creativity, but i wish he would make something original. i have this game for my atari jaguar, except it's called tempest 2000 and it doesn't have quite as much blur effect. i mean really, even some of the maps look the same in the video. of course i love that game too so a trippy update might be worth it.

Beware the ultra-violent Pac-Man [update 1]

i agree with her message of parents understanding what their children play, but propaganda tactics like the kidrisk site and her studies are a little extreme. i think perhaps her studies definition of violence should also be re-thought, i think throughout history it's evident that human beings are naturally violent in all societies, but chomping imaginary ghost creatures is not really violent compared to say, enslaving a race of people for trade, trying to wipe out a race of people via concentration camps or using a passenger jet full of people to take out a skyscaper. if she would use a little common sense and realign her sights a little on what "violent" is then these percentages would be much lower. in the end parents just really need to talk to their kids more and make sure they are well informed as to what's real and just make believe.

Engadget's Cleaning Out Our Closet Contest

Aug 16th 2006 3:05PM (Engadget)
I would love to have the #18. HP iPAQ h1940 - No good reason other than the past 2 months I've had a run incredibly bad luck. One of my best friends past away, the house my fiance and I just bought had the a/c unit die (and the warranty and insurance won't cover it), our homeowners insurance dropped us since it's hurricane season in FL, and the new insurance co. won't cover us unless we have a more up to date breaker box installed(costing upwards of $1000). I'm sure that karma willing, the cosmos could align just a little in my favor and i could win this simple gadget that would bring me so much joy, as I am a tech toy junkie. Thank you.
