Let's just clear up a few things:

1. There has never been a 20GB SKU in Europe. So in the context of this story 2 SKUs is irrelevant.
2. There was never hardware backwards compatibility in Europe. So in the context of this story the choice of getting a non- gimped system is irrelevant.
3. To get the PS3 with the extras right now in the UK is over $800 US, so to question whether a game and a controller is better value for money than 20GB is irrelevant.

It was a fair enough question by the blogger- they didn't ask what the sport is, only what the game is. Show me screens of FIFA and PES, I couldn't tell you straight away which was which.

I don't care about a 'gamerscore', but what the public achievement system does do is encourage a person to use and keep a single profile (gamercard). Without that incentive, especially on a 'free system' it may be difficult to police unwelcome behaviour online.

Because of the delays, the PS3 isn't a factor right now. He's obviously trying to put the PS2 as a viable purchase come Christmas.
