Resistance: Burning Skies multiplayer page revealed, removed
Apr 3rd 2012 3:34PM (Joystiq)this is what I've been waiting for on my vita.
I'm enjoying the launch titles I got (esp. rayman origins)
but i see no purpose, overall, in a console that isn't going to let me get online for the multiplayer I love. that's just me, but i'm glad to know it's on.
woot.

Atlus PSP titles heavily discounted on PSN
Mar 28th 2012 1:16PM (Joystiq)never played a jrpg either, unless you count the Souls games, which are both RPG's and made in Japanese devs..soo jrpgs?
not sure i'll care for these, but looking for something else to enjoy on the vita till the next wave of games (online multiplayer please!) arrives.
thoughts?
will i be bummed playing these? is the combat fun for someone who loves things like bayonetta, dark/demon's souls, uncharted.. etc..?
Prototype 2 trailer is awfully direct
Mar 23rd 2012 9:13AM (Joystiq)but if they think that locking out attack moves as DLC is going to motivate me to buy-in, these guys are sorely missing the point.
bargain bin?
let's see how the DLC works, then I'll decide.
single player only.. should be down to $20-ish used within 6 months

Feb 6th 2012 1:16PM (Joystiq)the proprietary memory and the launch lineup are making it easy for me to put off this purchase.
I only got back into gaming this gen (from >15 years ago)
and i love my ps3. I know i'mma pick up one of these babys
and would love it in time for my upcoming snowboarding trip
but i'm in no hurry to play another UC singleplayer campaign so soon after finishing 3 (which, of course, I totally enjoyed) and I honestly can't see myself paying $40-$50 (or really >$30) for single-player only vita games.
prices will normalize after sony gets the early adopters.
it's kind of a test of my patience to wait out the first price drops
or maybe just more compelling bundles.
i guess we'll see.
I even made time to visit a gamestop to get my hands on one
and it was hilariously encased in a protective shell for look-see only.
owell.
i guess they feel they don't need to chase early adoptions.
Give me something I can't NOT take snowboarding, and i'm in.
I figure with all the noise that comes with a console launch, they'd want to maximize their impact with day-one sales, maybe save themselves a few 'DOA' articles.. i know.. i know.. haters gon hate.
hey sony. here I am, just in case you wanted to make me an offer i can't refuse.
that said, one thing i've enjoyed about sony is their long view
o sure. they certainly could have taken a somewhat shorter view on the importance of playing games with your friends this gen... but that's a different conversation.

Alleged former THQ staffer sends furious note to board, press
Jan 25th 2012 1:33PM (Joystiq)let's be fair here
Writing skills are neither essential to many jobs in Games Development (including, for example, technical positions) ..nor are they necessarily common. My boss, a senior executive at a MAJOR entertainment company (ie: NOT a developer) has similar writing skills. Additionally, many technical hires come from overseas, often due to the fact that they can be paid less for often comparable skills, and so let's say that this individual speaks/writes English as their Second language. They may easily be a crack coder with less than impressive writing skills. My guess is that this person has not written anything resembling a press release until now.
I think it's relatively safe to say that this individual's ability to pen a press release very likely had little to do with their ability to perform their job duties... unless he performed as a technical writer, supervisor or manager of some kind. so your assumption is fairly poor overall.
I hope your bosses do not require a sound ability to reason and formulate convincing arguments.
