Windows Live login suggested as Xbox Live security flaw

Jan 13th 2012 1:12PM (Joystiq)
@Ayepecks Maybe they cross reference the accounts to previously leaked lists of passwords (like the gawker list)?

I fully expect the hacking is coming in through the front door like this (password guessing of some sort).

The real security flaw would be people are using awful passwords. You still can't get in without a password.

Saint's Row: The Third gives everyone CheapyD for free

Okay, from this CheapyD shows he isn't a professional voice actor.

But I like it. I just wish I hadn't already finished the game!

@Scuffles It's not nearly 50-50. For every kid that burns down a house, there are 99 who just finally calm down.

Stop giving these people your attention. They're a bunch of children acting like children and any parent can tell you that the only way to get a child to stop acting out is to ignore them.

Joystiq Top 10 of 2011: Saints Row: The Third

Great game. Just playing a few hours of this makes you wonder what Rockstar was thinking, trying to make their game more "real" with crap like dating and working out.

I'm here to have fun, not do the same stuff I'd do in real life.

The game does rely too much on cheap sex gags (dildo weapon among other things), but that's minor compared to all the good it has in it.

@dsp4 Keeping your data in your code doesn't seem like that big a deal to me. I can allocate the space and read in the same data from a file in about 8 lines of C code.

You just stat the file to get the length, malloc a buffer, open the file, read the entire file with the length you had, the close the file. And there, you're done.

It seems to me like the secret to coding games quickly (or at all) is lot more complex than just deciding where to put your bitmaps.
