Sony: Vita will support multiple PSN accounts, each tied to individual memory cards

Dec 8th 2011 8:36PM (Joystiq)
Here's my real-world problem with this. I pre-ordered the Vita bundle with the 4GB memory card, because I'm not sure if the Vita will still play all my video encoded for my PSP. If it can't, then a 32GB card would be a waste for me. But if it can, I WILL spring for a 32GB card.

But because the PSN accounts are tied to the card, well, I have to wait until I get a 32GB card before activating my account? It just seems kind of a hassle, unless the transfer/format thjng works-- but that also seems like a hassle too. Is it unreasonable for us to complain about this?

It's sad... I check out Nintendo Power, and other Future mags, like Guitar World.... Just kinda sad.

3D gaming's approval rating low, blamed on inherited wars and economy

Sep 25th 2011 9:11PM (Joystiq)
I am sorta mixed. On one hand, I think the 3D has been pretty good for most of the 3DS games I've played, such as Pilotwings Resort & resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D.

But I am frustrated by the incredibly narrow viewing angle of the 3D technology. I've gotten more used to it, but I can't deny it's annoying to be slightly off the sweet spot & just seeing a blur.

Overall I'm very much in favour of the 3D, but wish the tech was better.

"f*ck the SOCKS"??

I think you need to get your priorities straight... either that or you have some strange fetish that we don't need to know.

Sony's Yoshida 'very aware' of how much we hate firmware updates

Sep 21st 2011 12:12PM (Joystiq)
For the end user, the constant PSP updating sucked.

Yes it's great when it added new features, but how many ACTUAL updates actually added new features? Maybe 1 in 5 or 1 in 10.

Then, there were the updates that BROKE some normal functionality of the PSP. Sony: "Oops". If we were lucky, they'd fix it in the next update.

I hate how almost every PSP game I'd buy required me to update my firmware before I could play it.

Zen Pinball 3D flippers onto 3DS this fall

@blahblah55

I suppose. There's no direct link to "/Nintendo" on any of the Joystiq pages, so I didn't even know about that. There are, however, icons for each console, handheld & full size. The Joystiq staff should at least know how to organize news into each of these.

I don't mind reading Wii news (if they ever post anything other than Rockband updates) or anything Nintendo-related. But I don't have a PS3 so a lot of the Sony news isn't for me.

Zen Pinball 3D flippers onto 3DS this fall

Sep 20th 2011 10:16PM (Joystiq)
Oh brother. It's still too early to use a 3DS tag alone, Alexander/rest of Joystiq. 3DS should still be tagged along with DS news and as the DS content sharply drops off, transition the whole section to 3DS.

Same goes for PSP/Vita. Maybe think about this stuff. Bad enough that we lose about 50% of relevant news/video because it isn't tagged properly.

Ok, so I have to actually email every single Joystiq writer to tell them to actually TAG posts about the 3DS so they show up in the DS section? Same with the Vita/PSP posts. Come on already Joystiq. Stop disrespecting the handhelds.
