If this is true, let's hope they took the extra time they had to update some of the textures and increased the poly count on some of the models to make things stand out a bit more this gen.

I think you got yourselves confused.. Sonic CD was the -worst- 2D Sonic game of all time. The level design was horrible. The time travel was confusing and unnecessary. They used the Sonic 1 animations rather than Sonic 2 which looked better. The best part was the animated videos at the beginning and end. Don't get me wrong, I think Sonic CD is decent, and every Sonic fan should play it, but it's far from the best 2D Sonic game, that goes to Sonic 3 & Knuckles for sure.

Sega previously said that classic sonic was only coming back for this game only, but if this game ends up being one of the top selling Sonic games ever, I highly doubt they'd simply leave such a popular concept behind. Gamers know what made Sonic good, and Sega's just now realizing it themselves. This is the game that needs to break records, and we can finally have the Sonic we all loved in new games again.

I think this game looks great. I just wish the animation was more hand animated rather than the flash animation look. I know it's faster, but it looks cheaper too.

this post makes it sound like it's fact that everybody's username and password was stolen, when that may not be the case, and in my opinion is highly unlikely. There may have been a few users that may have had their data stolen, but I highly doubt all, or even a majority have. There has also been no evidence of CC information being stolen, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Keep an eye on your bank account and stuff, but I don't really think it's enough cause to cancel your card unless Sony says it's confirmed that that info has been stolen.

I'm sorry, but I'm not paying $5 for a genesis game, especially one I have, and that gets rereleased just about every year. $2, maaaayyybbe $3 max. $5 is crazy.

I highly doubt that they're doing this INSTEAD of updating the ps3. They're going to ALSO update the ps3, blocking a high percentage of potential pirates. Of course, the more knowledgeable, who have already installed custom firmware will continue to do so, and there's not much Sony can do to them except ban their PSN.
