WoW, Casually: The best gear for the least play-time

Nov 30th 2007 8:55AM (WoW)
I've come back from 0-2 deficits in WSG (Loudfiero) and yeah, it takes teamwork.

However, I remember this one time when this Horde arse 'Lock with an evil name that started with a 'D' (I forget the rest) was all about HK's and spitting on everyone... Well, being a gnome rogue, I decided to assassinate his ass exclusively. I stealthed and waited for him to start attacking someone else, then I'd Cheap Shot him and Backstab him then Kick him before his guardian Tauren "warrior-type" knew he was getting waxed... After a few deaths, he started to run away from me knowing full well I was only killing him for his dispicable play-style. We went on to win because that pair was owning everyone and I disrupted their style of teamwork which was handing everyone their ass. We won 3-2 in a come from behind. I love being a rogue...I hate 'locks...I had my g/f roll a 'lock...I wonder if that means anything....?

Breakfast topic: I wish I knew then what I know now

Everybody hates rogues until they roll one...

As for advice, roll a second alt in a class that you have no interest in that is a miner and other gathering profession so you can make money to support the one you actually like...

If you can't beat the gold farmer, make everyone's life miserable

Why can't you deposit your own gold in the bank and have it earn interest based on XP earned since the last time you were there.

Also, allow for loans from the bank based on your level where the money is paid back after that from a percentage of all your positive transactions?

So a level 10 character can take out a loan for 10G and a level 40 for 40G to help them get their first mount or better gear. After that, they should be able to make their own gold.

So it only supports interlace and not progressive scan. Switch back to 480i.

Epic still not supporting Wii

Oct 5th 2007 3:16PM (Joystiq)
Did you guys forget that Red Steel was made using UR 2.5?

Anyway, I guess Epic didn't hear that the Gamebryo middleware engine has been optimized for the Wii.

Revolutionary: Emulation-ary

GC mode is not completely tweaked down from Wii mode. In Madden for GC, I own '05, I would run up the middle and the framerate would drop to about 5fps. When playinng '05 on the Wii in GC mode, there was no framerate drop.

Actually sounds quite promising. I was thinking analog stick for movement too. Perhaps hold Z and/or B to actually start sensing a punch vs. a body lean would be a better way. Or...
The nunchuck's thumbstick to move and it's tilt to lean and the Wii-mote's tilt to hold the hands high/low to block, then press Z and move nunchuck for a left or B and move Wii-mote for a right and the motion determines the punch style...

Red Steel 2 confirmed again and again and again

Sep 6th 2007 7:29AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I liked Red Steel. Beat it 100%. The main bug is when pointing accidentally off-screen, you'd spin like crazy. In MP3 - you just stop turning. A simple fix for RS2. Also, the lighting in the game was awesome. Very realistic once you got to about the 30% point. From there the graphics excelled.
