PS3 overtakes total Xbox 360 sales in Japan ... already
Dec 12th 2006 11:18PM (Joystiq)Wake up lads. It's comfortable blaming their supposed nationalism as it allows us to avoid confronting the real reasons why Xbox line failed i.e. games. But if we wanted any Xbox to do well there in the future, it would be in OUR best interest to wake up to this fact.
Sony confident despite lower than expected NPD data
Dec 8th 2006 8:42PM (Joystiq)The rest is down to how solid they can make the software support for PS3 in around 2007/2008. If they can get 4+ exclusive world beaters, I reckon they will survive.
It's a deadly line to walk though.
Nintendo gets sued over Wiimote [update 1]
Dec 8th 2006 8:27PM (Joystiq)Luke: "Heh... but they got theirs to work."
Mark: "Actually, can't we sue them for some cash?"
Mathew: "You're right...! But we should wait till Wii lauches and see them sell out. That way we can max out the fees."
John: "Hmm... but Wiimote is quite different, push comes to shove."
Luke: "Yeah I know... but who knows, Nintendo is rich and it might work."
Mark: "I know. We could sue them for the trigger! It's our most likely path to a fortune."
Mathew: "Alright then guys, we'll sue them when they've sold enough units."
John Luke Mathew Mark: "ALRIGHT!!"

Power-hungry Wiimotes (Wii annoyance #009)
Dec 3rd 2006 2:49PM (Joystiq)Oh, incidentally the sharp edges of Wii is looking dangerous and giving me sleepless nights. C'mon, Nintendo, you are better than this.
Princeton's "psychic" USB stick isn't very convincing
Dec 3rd 2006 8:04AM (Engadget)This articles takes that news and reinvents it by skewing it. It's a little misleading really.
Crisis Core trailer emphasizes PSP shortcomings, offers hope
Dec 2nd 2006 11:34AM (Joystiq)I like Joystiq overall, but it's at times like this that I think the site would benefit from having one chief editor to do the quality control. I know it's a blog, but enough people read it, surely Joystiq itself would benefit from having such standards.
Japanese hardware sales, 20 Nov - 26 Nov: Krazy Kutaragi addition
Dec 1st 2006 9:54PM (Joystiq)These days I don't know what the "standard" is for Joystiq articles. While back it was very anti-Nintendo. Then things changed a bit, and now it's often anti-Sony.
From journalism standpoint, this article is poor. I've been leaning towards 360 and Wii for months now, but this seems like an unnecessary cheap shot at PS3, likely seen more often in school play grounds.
I don't think it would hurt Joystiq to bring in a bit more rationale and discipline in some of the articles. It's one thing to present facts and statistics, something else to put a childish spin.

Nov 30th 2006 10:34PM (Joystiq)I don't know how robust that is though, but seems like a good start.
