Rein: 3DS likely below minimum specifications for Unreal Engine

Oct 6th 2010 10:54PM (Joystiq)
amazing, this guy is a true n-hater to the core.

thats too bad, they are geniuses at what they do (game engines). at the least i would approach nintendo and offer them a custom version, with good pricing, etc. instead of a straight 'middle-finger' approach.

oh well, its cool to hate nintendo anyways. i doubt this will change with the 3DS.

Unreal Engine 3 up and running (and shooting) on iPhone

Dec 22nd 2009 7:31PM (Joystiq)
@Brian: Yeah its really quite disappointing that Epic went so far to fit the UE3 for the iPhone and not the Wii.

Although they did say that the UE3 engine is only for "next-gen, high-definition" and they don't have time to run it on portables too.

So maybe the Wii is weaker than the iPhone. Oh well.

"though they'd be fools to waste an opportunity like this."

they already did with the Wii. *sigh* why is it that when MS or Sony its like the second coming but if its for Nintendo its all doom-and-gloom-and-anecdotal-i-sold-my-wii type of posts.

Report: Only 11% of Wii games score above 80%

How ironic. Nintendo's 'iron-grip' was also the reason a lot left for the Playstation before... Now that they Nintendo relaxes their grip, everybody wants it back...

Damn if they do, damn if they don't.

Sony's newest motion sensing patent

Dec 15th 2006 4:25AM (Joystiq)
Looks like it will be for the next eyeToy... Has lots of potential but ultimately it will not be as popular as the wii-mote since its not bundled... UNLESS sony bundles it with the PS3 and gives it free to those who bought one earlier.

This will definitely be on the PS4.

You guys can argue 'who copied who?', but at least we can confirm that thanks to the wii... gameplay will continue to evolve.

Japanese Wii enjoys painless birth; stores across Japan sell out

Looks like another successful Wii launch for Nintendo!

No one got hurt or shot, generally peaceful and ample supply. Good job Nintendo!

I hope you guys maintain that kind of attitude come Europe and Australian launch.

One hardcore gamer to rule them all

You have to admit his persistence to get something is out of this world. In this case a Wii, but I'm sure we'll react the same if it was for a PS3... Or anything for that matter.

Then again, anything in excess is bad. Somebody should tell him that although sleep is for babies, it would be much better if he could grab enough sleep and still play games. That would be a much better alternative.

Wonder what would happen if that Sony Rep told that to joystiq...

"OMG! that is the most wonderful thing since the invention of fire! the second coming is here! realistic sweat! PS3 FTW!"

Nintendo doesn't like next-gen optical discs

Nov 13th 2006 5:45PM (Joystiq)
Forcing = putting Blu-ray even when other would-be PS3 owners doesn't want it.

Your analogy of forcing to upgrade to DVD enabled Wii is flawed. You have a choice of getting it or not.

This article reeks bias and is unprofessional. Well done, Joystiq. You're becoming like Kotaku every day.

Nintendo's new Zelda falls flat

Nov 12th 2006 5:33AM (Joystiq)
speaking on a more general term rather than a fanboy...

But joystiq seems interested in starting some kind of issue with Wii and its games in general.

You've already posted a counter point: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/12/nintendos-new-zelda-most-certainly-doesnt-fall-flat/

Then another one: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/12/careful-with-those-ancient-zelda-screenshots-youll-poke-an-eye/

Give it a rest and just enjoy the experience.
