Go frame by frame at the end, when the logo flashes and inverts there's a single frame of a molecular structure or something. Not sure if it means anything specific scientifically, but it's surely a hint about something.
This should be expected, not the exception. As the article even says, we shouldn't be patting the companies on the head for doing what they were supposed to do all along. So why on earth does this warrant an article in the first place? Spread the word if another game screws up like Dead Rising and doesn't look good on non-HDTVs, sure, but can we expect articles on every game from here on out? "Breaking news: This game works!" I'll let you guys get back to the rodeo.
Thanks for the link peregrine. Psaakryn, I "didn't get it" because that kind of information wasn't offered in this joystiq article. My comments were reasonable given what I read here first.
Who is this really going to help? There are still going to be system requirements you're going to have to meet for an enjoyable experience. What MS is doing here isn't a bad idea, but it's a pretty small step. It seems like it's going to do more for Vista marketing than Joe Gamer, or Joe Gamer's parents, whoever it is that MS thinks needs a snazzy logo to show them the games on the PC GAMES shelf at Wal*Mart are for, you know, PCs.
Hey Joystiq, why is this worth anyone's time? Why even draw attention to this, much less take the bait and waste the time responding to it? Slow news day?
