Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy review: A tale of souls and buster swords, eternally retold

these games are my favorite fighting games, period.

story is nothing to write home about, but the combat is very, very fun.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls finds a home on PSN

yeah, i was thinking the other day. i bet you could take alot of those old skool rpgs. a bard's tale, ultima, wizardry, might and magic... and reduce them to one umd for the psp. how awesome would that be if they got that together?

Homefront review: First-person Hooters

can i committ bit of heresy.

I am a right of center kind of guy. i thought the soviet union was pretty dang evil.

But red dawn was a stupid movie. there, i said it. i watched it again recently and laughed out loud when the soviets shot an RPG until a school house. "High schoolers! kill them!" the soviet union had alot of bad in them, but they didn't typically go trying to kill civilians.

PS3 shipments blocked in Europe as LG wins preliminary injunction

you guys are all assuming that once microsoft has us by the short and curlies in gaming, that they will play nice with new competitors. they haven't in the past.

we should root for sony, because otherwise the only alternative is nintendo for the forseeable future.

also bluntly, the remedy seems extreme to me. bratz was caught fully stealling from mattel and even using a program called "evidence eraser" to cover it up. the appeals court ruled that the correct solution was to let bratz keep selling and pay damages. the same makes sense for this, assuming sony is guilty.

Inevitable We Dare backlash comes from Daily Mail

I think that ubisoft can't be held responsible for this bit... I suspect they are surprised the daily mail is.

But it is f--ed up for a game like that to be rated by the European version of the ESRB as for 12+. My brother, for instance, relies on these rating to be reasonable, because then he can make a simple, "no argument" rule. No games above your age range.

David O. Russell responds to Uncharted movie fan concerns

Feb 21st 2011 4:27PM (Joystiq)
i would add that what makes a game good is often very different than what makes a movie good. like there is never going to be a movie that really captures what i loved about the hitman games, or splinter cell. because it is fun to be sam fisher, braced against the ceiling, waiting for the perfect time to strike. it is not fun to just watch him.

Plus with this movie, you get the feeling that they will end up nuking the fridge, or something over the top like that. meaning super human stunts because they think that is what we want.

David O. Russell responds to Uncharted movie fan concerns

ah, let's face it, what drives the game, besides the cover-mechanics and light platforming is the characters.

And the fact is that they created a very fleshed out character in nathan drake. i was actually a little weirded out to see nolan north talking about the process, because i can't picture that voice coming out of that head. i can only picture it coming out of nathan's.

no knock on wahlberg, but he's going to come off as an imitation.

And while they often refer to these games as "playable summer movies" the fact is that there is alot more story, just in the cut scenes than you could fit into a full length movie. and dare i say, the second one was a little deeper than the typical summer movie daring to have a relationship that mattered in the end.

Battle: Los Angeles game being made by Saber Interactive, ratings board suggests

@SisypheanLife sounds like this might be a "feel good" movie for you. its sort of like how i enjoy any movie that involves OJ Simpon getting hurt.

Report: Homefront deploying in European Xbox 360 console bundle

i never get this. why do people get this exited over a new IP? how many times does the stuff that looks pretty cool for months on end, suddenly turn out to suck? how many times do the things you didn't think you would like that much turn out to rock?

PSA: PlayStation Network content must be re-purchased on Xperia Play

Feb 14th 2011 4:57PM (Joystiq)
well, for half a second i considered it, because then i could play anywhere on the go and most people would think it was JUST a phone.

But now? screw that, i will get a verizone iphone!

seriously, i have a ton of games on my psp, minis, ps1 classics, and just plain psp downloads. if they don't transfer then about 90% of the argument for buying this phone goes bye-bye. "wow, i can play games with an even smaller screen and one less analogue nub. where can i sign up?" no, screw that.

And crash bandicoot? eh, its alright, but i would hardly call it legendary.
