God of War TV spot rains blood 'en Espanol'

Apr 24th 2008 2:36AM (Joystiq Playstation)
The war of the Gods has descended upon the city. God of War, Chains of Olympus, only for the PSP. The power of the Gods at the palm of your hands.

There you go.

Blizzard plans Latin American WoW

Mar 27th 2008 5:46PM (WoW)
I wouldn't transfer my main nor install the translated client. I'm just used to the way it is, those voices have given my chars. and all of the world (of warcraft) a sense of identity that would make the translation feel a bit out of place.
Besides, I like the cross of cultures that takes place in WoW, it's just a lot of fun.
I just hope I can keep on playing and paying the same way I've always done without complications (somehow I think that this new support for the Latin American region might bring some complications with credit cards).

Blizzard plans Latin American WoW

I too felt that comment was a bit on the ignorant side. I don't really know if there are many Latin American readers here, but the comments indicate we are indeed here. Of course it was only an innocent joke, but I hope Amanda realizes that it does feel a bit weird to take a stereotypical image just to put a nice joke in here.

Blizzard plans Latin American WoW

It doesn't really work that way for us in South America. In fact, I think it's safe to say that, since most dub works come from Mexico, we are accustomed to a standard accent (which you may recognize from your studies of Spanish Linguistics the same as I do) that we can all recognize. One big example for all of the Spanish speaking countries in Latin America is The Simpsons, which are dubbed in Mexico and most people was used to their voices and accents until they changed the dub actors. I don't think it would be that hard neither for Blizz nor for us South Americans (except for Brazilians) to "get" all of the translation.

A petition for penguins in WotLK

Mar 12th 2008 8:12PM (WoW)
I don't wanna kill penguins, nor see them dead.
So unless they can't be killed, I truly don't feel like having lovely penguins in my WoW.

Too bad, I always had fun with the /silly comic :(

Good luck with everything!

You don't have to tolerate racism in WoW

Nov 24th 2007 4:10PM (WoW)
I did report racism once. A mail from Blizz said that they wouldn't be able to notify what they found, but I felt ok that my claims for racism were somewhat listened to.
I won't go deep into what happened, but there was a guy ranting about the Hispanic community in WoW, and well, he said nasty, stupid and offensive things.
So well, I reported him and never saw him again.

How to enjoy grinding and read books at the same time

The Gutenberg Project has a nice collection too, worth checking it!

Capcom venturing into 'Dark Void'

And that's the joke, which is our consensus!
There is the fun, all over that precise spot.
