I got to yard sales and sitch... they always got the HOT classics of yore. Just the other day, I picked up, Spelunker for the NES... $1..... LEGENDARY!
I can't help it if your lazy, thats your issue. If you happen to be some fat lazy guy and it makes you feel better to state that its an ongoing trend amongst people then thats your deal. I am not lazy, and 1hr for 300HD, 40 min for Hairspray... all for movies that you don't even get to keep? It took me all of 15 minutes to go to BestBuy, buy 300 on BRD and enjoy it to the fullest....... AS MANY TIME AS I WANT AND WHEN I WANT.
Seriously... waiting that long for a subscribed movie, 24hrs or 1 play... psshh... you have to be really lazy to enjoy being screwed like that.
That ^^^ is were I have a problem.. regardless of how minor it is, there will be imperfections that bother me during decompression. Also, keep in mind the time it takes to search for the movie and then activate the DL. Also, having a PC connected to my hometheater system is hardly what I want. What if my OS is shut down... do I feel like waiting for everything to boot up justso I can watch a movie... or do I power on, open tray, insert disc, play... 15 sec tops. You stick with your idea, I enjoy instant gratification.
Until SSDs reach levels of 1 Tb or more, downloading is going to be balls. Sure, you can probaly re-download everything you've purchased if you HDD goes out... but thats annoying as all hell. Transfer speeds aren't up to par for DLing 2 hrs of HD content... and to hell with waiting 25-45 minutes eveytime I feel like watching a movie.
Atleast with optical media I can say... I want to watch this... go to my rack, pick it, play it, enjoy it. INSTANT gratification.
Because Warner still has a contract with HD-DVD until May.
I have both, but I've always perferred Blu... uncompressed sound is unmatched... plus, no need for HDMI1.3 with uncompressed... when you start getting DD-THD and DTS-MA, thats when your recievers need to be up to date, but if the BRD has uncompressed PCM... ITS ALLLLLLLLLLLL GOOD.
