Kinect voice control not available in some countries until Spring 2011 [update: available in Canada at launch]

Sep 1st 2010 5:08PM (Joystiq)
Okay that's the final straw. I've been defending kinect up until this point, but this is just ridiculous. How the f can it not do voice recognition in canada? It's one of the biggest features on kinect and it's the sam damn language. I'm cancelling my preorder forsure now. I'll get it some other time. What a fail.

@NasalBaton If Microsoft didn't make live cheaper when the full featured PSN was free, why do you think they'd make it cheaper after Sony starting charging for it.

@Nintari Wow that makes a lot of sense. As the service gets better and more features are added.. the service gets cheaper? interesting theory.

@copa What he said. The service is completely worth it no matter how you break it. Don't be cheap people. It's better than paying monthly to play one game online..

Tsunoda, Harmonix address Kinect player limit, but questions remain

I don't get what all this kinect multiplayer fus is about. The guy said that it can do more than one player at a time, but that it was simply a creative decision to only have one. Kudo and other various Microsoft reps have also said that kinect can do more than one player... Guess what. It can also be used while sitting down! I know. Mind blowing.

Love the newly designed dashboard and avatars. With the exception of the lack of depth(the squares and text going backwards) this time around that is.

Wow. Unresponsive much. From the looks of things they have a ton of work to do. If I were them I would have shown it off yet. There looks to be a ton of lag and half the tome it looked like it didn't even do half the moves he did. I don't if that's just because of the massive amount of lag or if it didn't recognizes his positions, but damn. A fighting game could be amazing with kinect, but if you gonna do it you gotta do it right.

@alexdlc Agreed, If this is an actual game it looks very boring. However I think it works very well as a tech demo. This kinda of thing would work great when implemented into games such as the sims or any rpg.

This looks amazing. That smart button needs to be in every shooter.
