Well if this guy knows what he is talking about that is good news for Blockbuster (if they can survive until then) and Gamefly. The day demos go from free to paid is the day rental sales raise and/or piracy rises. OR this could very well push retailers into a new return policy on video games.

The PS3 is more "high-tech" than the 360 and that is something that can be easily translated to more sales in Japan seeing how the Japanese market is known to cater more towards high/cutting edge technology.
