Dec 9th 2011 9:11AM (Joystiq)Give it sometime and you'll warm up to it. Just like you did with the graphic style of Windwaker, and just like when your favorite franchise did something you thought was blasphemous.

Jul 15th 2011 8:47PM (Joystiq)The developers and publishers get my support.
The publishers are who give money to the developer in order to actually make the games aren't they? If that is the case, and they get any money from these passes, doesn't that mean that there is a increased chance that the next game will have a bigger budget and, possibly, be better? And I would hate for a game like Driver: SF to suffer more because of this Passport (I believe it'll have poor sales facing off against Madden) when it has such a promising multiplayer component.
But you are certainly correct about there being other circumstances for games to be called failures, used game sales are just one of my scapegoats.

Jul 15th 2011 5:15PM (Joystiq)1) In my house anyone who wants a copy of a game must obtain it of their own accord for their own account. This way, if multiple people have an interst, everyone is responsible for getting thier own copy and noone person feels taken advantage of. I do not see the point of a single person having multiple accounts nor do I see...
2) a reason for you to play a game on multiple consoles. If I put in the code for Mortal Kombat for instance on my Xbox and recover my gamertag on my friend's console, I can still use that Kombat Pass there.
3) After an incident where a "friend" used a game disc as a coaster instead of playing it I refuse to loan out games. Nor do I bother trading in games. I can always revisit the game a a later time to engross myself in the story once it has escaped my memory.
I argue it is not a matter of stupidity it is a matter of my own viewpoints. A bit of "ignorance is bliss" if you will. I am of the party who doesn't shop at Gamestop on a regular basis and I only buy new copies if it is possible.
The game industry is changing and must adapt in order to cover the costs neccesary to remain a profitable business. It is because of the used game industry that good developers like Black Rock or Bizarre Creations end up being forced to close doors. Do I know if a Projct Ten Dollar situation would've helped out either one? Of course not. But, it is my belief that either way, the price of a game, missing features, or something you pay extra for, should not stop someone from having an experience or escape. Remember first and foremost: they're just games. Enjoy them!

Jul 15th 2011 1:38PM (Joystiq)Consumers are a fickle bunch. If a company has a wonderful service and they feel threatened by a new development (let's say Netflix and Hollywood demanding more money from streaming) consumers tend to whine that it should stay the same. Yet the odd thing is if that unless they raise prices they eventualy go out of business and everyone loses.
And by the way, those of you who were going to buy Driver: San Francisco or Assassin's Creed: Revelations or any other such title new, how does the addition afect you negatively? Or do you feel you are sticking up for it out of "principle"?
