Now I want to buy one of these things, just to reverse-engineer it, post the results on Bittorrent (or similar file-sharing service) and go "Nyah Nyah!" to Activision.
@Anticrawl Did you even read the title, let alone the summary? It's a digital magazine. For iPad/Android tablets. It's not static issue-by-issue either, but updates regularly with new content.
It's an app that you can download, and not on a "dead medium" at all.
@Jameseh There's no "pay more" part of this equation. You just pay a little startup money, and get the first issue (or first year) free.
If you already own a tablet, and are interested in this kind of content, it's a good deal, and helps a small business get it's feet off the ground. That's what Kickstarter is supposed to be about.
Nobody is forcing you to do anything either. If you're not interested, then don't bother. I do happen to be interested, so I'll consider the proposition.
So you know what? You keep your dollar, and you stick it in a shoebox, and watch your life fill up with regret on what you could have done with it. Eventually you'll be a sour old scrooge, who never had an ounce of fun in his life, and never felt good at helping others achieve success. All because you held on to that one, measly dollar.
I have a REALLY hard time buying Onlive Games. I got Batman AA when it was $0.99, but when OnLive complains more than half the time that my "connection suffers intermittent drop-outs" and won't let me play, I just can't give them any money...
