Vita games with internal memory can't use memory cards

Oct 25th 2011 4:36PM (Joystiq)
@PedoJokerBear No its not confusing, but it is unnessarily complicated and a step backwards, you'll need a memory card anyway for dlc or for the games that don't save to themselves and yet you can't even back them up? It's only something sony has allowed since the PSone. How much could it have possibly put them out if the systems have to be in place anyway? It's unintuitive and unintelligent.
Just like recieving a game you've paid two times or more for at a discount when the no physical media copy starts off more exspensive then a bonus edition physical copy. (Dissidia 012 game 14.99 extra content, download 27.99 no extra content) to download onto a device you've had to pay for to begin with. It's like paying for a game but being sold the disc seperately and being charged more for it.
Is it surpising at all the Go failed? it wasn't the world wasn't ready for it, they weren't. So many games still haven't made it onto the store even ones over a year old.

The More I hear the less I want it. Technology Minus "Two steps forward Eight back"
Which is a shame because I was so looking forward to playing games that would have been far more suited to a console release and greatly improve by, on a device that leaves me needing to be tethered to a powerpoint anyway.

Bethesda: Nobody enjoys being 'forced' to sue Mojang

Is there a shockingly high percentage of lawyer's on this site or something?
Always find it so surpising how many people will defend immoral, indecent, unjustified and non-sensical action's of large companies, though legalese, technicalities and other marketing jargon.
"But unless they sue for the word "scrolls" they'll lose the right to "The Elder Scrolls"" It doesn't make it any more justified. We all should just accept it no matter how obsurd, out dated and plain ridiculous a document is? (why does that sound so familar?) Not call for a change and a change in action to not abuse a system for justice not pay outs?

Rise and Shiny recap: Glitch

Been finding it a bit aimless to be honest, not in the why should I level a toon to 85 sort of way but there just seems to be a lack of boundries.
Passing though 50 near identical areas which no one speaks a word, every one containing a mix of animals to "farm" by giving happy endings and biting with no really growth in doing so, aside from collecting 1000's of items to get an emblem to learn a new skill eventually. 3-5 area's in a row that will have identical vendors, yet the one you want being in a new zone entirely. Just feels less imagination run wild and more good idea on strong painkillers. Aside from eventually needing an emblem to learn a new skill eventually you might as well not gather till that point, you gain nothing out of it, you won't earn as much xp as someone with lvl 3, you don't skill up in any form short of being able to minorly speed up the afk learning process, you'll get less materials for it and use more energy while it takes twice to time. So click learn go do anything else and in a few days time then maybe thing about actually playing the game once you've got most of the base skill's down that cost you nothing to learn so you didn't even need to farm current's to start a timer.
As for the subscription and credit prices, you're not really getting 900 free, it's a marketing ploy. Here have this £60 item, it cost £100 usually but I'll give it to you for £70. That's a massive 30% saving your making from me, I gain nothing from it.
There is a rather famous design there that unless there is someone I didn't realise was on board with this team, isn't thier own, yet cost around £2. Does no one else find that a touch shady?

LotRO introduces Mithril Edition, Dwarves swarm local retailers

@exe973 No your right, not wanting to pay in 3 different ways at a higher then average rate = wanting everything just handed to me for free. I'm sorry I should have been more thoughtful of Warner Bros, I'm sure they worked exceptionally hard on making the concept of 4 bag slots and virtual space on these tiny modern day servers are at a premium, all those lines of item codes saying what's in a bag just takes so much.

To the above comment, subscription doesn't actually lift all restrictions and I'm not talking about novelty items, costumes, mounts etc. And no I don't actually want everything for free, I don't mind paying for a subscription or buying an exspansion but object to npc's, recipes and the ability to loot is charged on top of both of those, thing's that build up a tapestry of crafting and gameplay not in excess too.

To be honest I partly agree with the last line, yes the idea of this freeium model is quite nice, to purchase the features you want to use, surely it would help then in further funding the parts you enjoy, over just paying a base subscription that just goes to"development" in general. Like a pick and mix over a bag of mixed sweet's, you can get more of what you like and not have things you don't like, but when I get the the counter and am told each fried egg will cost a surplus charge of 10p on top of the price of the container size, yeah I'd object.

Guess it's something I should get used to though seen as a genius and masterpiece of work is ok to charge £2-3 for a design that isn't thier own. surpised nintendo hasn't caught on yet...wonder if there's a finder's fee for that.

I still haven't pre ordered skyrim over this, game I've been looking forward too for years (well, wanting more Elder Scrolls). I want the game, I looks like it'll be awesome but I just can't get providing money (even if it is a small fraction) to the people that are responsible for this action to sit right with me. Only made worse by their official forums (but not controlled by BS...yeah right) their out right refusal to allow discussion of the topic, it is related to the game, just cause you're ignoring it doesn't make it not so, just makes it worse by showing a lousy P.R. move. Probally have done far more damage to thier image then having a game with a single shared word could ever do. Didn't lionhead try pull this off with the word fable a few years ago? I swear I remember reading that exact speech a while back. Not that, that was the only thing that damaged thier image and further by their refusal to talk about it aside from a few generic vague statements.

A small part of me is glad it's going to court. Hopefully BS will recieve a heavy slap on the wrist for trying to claim ownership of a single word. Although I am a bit scared that they might win, not on any legal grounds or common sense but money. I could be a disaster for games and creative outlets everywhere if they did. Seriously though how can no one in that company see they need to step down from an obsurd claim to single word or they will seriously damage their own reputation worse then horse armor ever could.

LotRO introduces Mithril Edition, Dwarves swarm local retailers

After trying it and thinking, "Gee, I don't think you could get freeium more wrong or more of a con" I'm proved wrong almost right away.
A keyboard map is not a bonus (well unless it's printed on gold) It part of the manual and should at least have a easy and quick to view stand alone image file, if no physical copy is provided being green and all.
I can't believe there's so little objection to the severity of Lotro's nickel and diming their costumers.
You could pay full price for a physical game, pay one of the more exspensive membership fees out there and still not have access to some basic game feature's, no you'd have to pay £10 for a bag slot not a few virtual gold. Oh and you want to speak to an npc? Or learn a recipe, or access some quests? or have a horse that a slightly light shade of brown then the in game one? thats another £10 each.
But I guess your right who want's big bosses, dungeons, not needing to juggle 20 easily filled slots, banks or no limit to the virtual currency you earn in your MMORPG, I personally love buying recipes with real money on top of a subscription that will become outdated and have to buy 2 extra bag slots so I can hold the items needed for said recipe without going insane while gathering.
