Dec 12th 2010 7:41AM (Joystiq)For example, I just lost a race where a racer who was driving the same car as me was repeatedly smashing walls and hitting traffic. It never slowed him down. The cop weapons like the EMP are totally ineffective in most cases. The EMP actually makes the racers faster somehow. All this and more just adds up to cheap losses and a lot of annoyance.
I understand the reviewer was basing much of his score on the online opponent. But for those who don't care to play online it should be said that the AI is incredibly cheap and you will find luck plays as much or more a part of winning as any skill you may develop.

You don't want to "overheat" the spot timer, as it adds extra time to the delay before you can spot again.
Also sometimes its simply brush and other obstacles that are in the way. The same thing happens if you call a mortar strike with a bush in front of you, the mortar thinks you are targeting the bush even when your reticule is clearly on your intended target.
