Aug 10th 2010 5:26PM (Engadget)I don't believed that I adopted an anti-business stance- I just happen to have a philosophical issue with the sheer amount of greed among people who already have everything. I understand that the counterpoint to that issue is "how do you think they got that way in the first place", but they just don't need to sell us out to grow their business. They don't have to. They just want to. While I'm not going to do anything hasty like switch to Bing, I will remain open to other options and remind myself that I'm not necessarily a human to them as I am a dollar sign.

Jul 26th 2010 11:19AM (Engadget)Not only is not having enough glasses a problem, but there's an even larger issue: I, and my children, break shit. I have no idea what the build quality of these glasses will be, but something tells me that they will build them as cheaply as possible and charge as much money as they possibly can for them, which leads me to believe that they will be crushed under foot, under ass, and in the layers of my couch. When 3D is ready sans glasses and the sets offer a credible leap over the 1080 my sets already do, then it will be viable for me.
@Pearl Jam Actually, I don't see the having enough glasses point people pose as being a problem. For every movie you, your family, and your friends see at the movie theater in 3D, you are given a pair of glasses, and if you like, you can bring them home. I've seen 2 movies in 3D now, and now, I have at home, 2 pairs of glasses sitting by my TV, ready for anyone to use in the future. Over time, the collection of glasses will accumulate. As far as the rest of the arguments, you could make all the same arguments for HD.
