I think they're releasing it December 4th so they can blame Brawl for the low sales.

This contest is Bioshocking, in that some random commenter will win!

I'm Biostoked about this game coming out!

NPR goes to Video Games Live

I'm as glad as anyone else that major news outlets are covering events like this, but are we really surprised by the reaction? Now if you were somehow able to switch their normal coffee, er... music... for video game music, and see if they liked it, you might have something worth talking about.

Heavenly Sword may get multiplayer as DLC

According to the 80/20 rule, 90% done would mean they still have 40% of the work to do (assuming the last 20% is linear). I don't know if the 80/20 rule applies to game development though.

My brother has two pet rats. They are fairly docile, and they aren't disgusting in the least. Not all rats are bad.

I don't think Joystiq or Indexed understand exactly how Venn diagrams work. Even if we assume the letters represent points in the section, I think only point D makes sense. If the sections were labeled "Things X fans can play with," A,B,and C would make sense, but D wouldn't. Even on Indexed I've only seen a couple graphs that made sense completely.

This isn't smart/geek/nerd/math humor, at least not to me.

Stand-alone AI card: is it viable?

Sep 7th 2006 9:31AM (Joystiq)
3D accelerator cards were not required for every game, you just used Software Rendering if you didn't have one. It was the improved graphics and faster framerates that encouraged people to get one, but people with high end machines didn't have to get one if they didn't want to. I would imagine it could work the same way with physics and AI, have a "Software Engine" for those without the dedicated card, but those with it would see an improved frame rate because the dedicated card would allow more power to be used for graphics.

I don't see why it isn't viable. Now, would it be as profitable and prevalent as graphics cards within 2 years? That's a different question. Provide some games where it becomes noticable, and you'll get a definite Maybe from me.

There were 27 playable games for the Wii at E3. Sony just keeps copying Nintendo! ;)
