Xbox Live users report Gamerscores dropping to zero, MS aware of the issue [Update: potential fixes]

@lazerbyte

No Microsoft handled the problem by putting out a 3 year coverage warranty on the primary causes of the RRoD, and admitted that there were flaws in the design of the system by doing so, which is far more than Sony offered, which basically comes down to if you get the YLoD we will fix it at cost if its not covered under normal warranty.

Also, Sony only offered compensation and ID monitoring to avoid a very potential class action lawsuit over the security issue which they knew about but considered unimportant, the security of their network was their responsibility, but they blamed the hackers.

Yes, Sony is the image of responsibility... When they were hacked last year it took 2 weeks for them to admit that the hack actually happened, they also take no responsibility of the YLoD which happens on their consul, and their standard warranty doesn't cover the damage that causes this problem.

Buy 2 get 1 free on select Vita games at GameStop starting today

@Divo366

That is completely wrong. Retailers buy the items from the distributors, once the item is bought they can sell it for what every they like, even if its at a loss. Most items sold in a retail market is not on a consignment system like you are describing, and Sony defiantly doesn't consign their product. There is a practice in the industry to where if a product is reduced in SRP by the manufacture or distributor the retailers will be compensated for the difference between the price of SRP of their current product and the new SRP though.

@jph89

You are partially correct here. It has nothing to do with the order the games are put in though. The clause is "Free game must be of equal or lesser value of the cheapest game purchased." So, you would be charged for the two most costly games and given the cheapest free.

The system isn't even out yet and they are already discounting the games, talk about showing confidence in the system.

Blizzard has 4,700 employees across 11 cities

@Arrowsmith

Think about it, before it was Activision/Blizzard Bliz took their time and gave expansions which were truly expansions, Vivendi came along merged them with blizzard, who in turn said finish this crap you've had in development for 8 years or can it and what does Blizzard do, they everything on the fast track by taking developers away from the only game they had been working on for 4 years, and they never replenished those developers, that gave us the slick *&^$ expansion Cataclysm with only about a month of casual play, 1/3 that of the previous expansions, and a reduction in the total play time of the base game... I'd chalk that up to a reduction in development staff, now they are giving the player just what they always wanted, a race which you play through the base quest for the race then you choose a side... Oh wait the player got that with the death nights, but they also go 2 unique races along with them.

Maybe if they had more than 750 developers available they could have come up with something better than Kung Fu Panda for WoW.
