Only reason why Apple decided to stick with 3G is the that they can get a boost due to the lack of use of the 3G network thanks to the upgrade to 4G, and the fact they didn't want to pay for 4G components.

Taking down PSN is attacking Sony because it prevents them from doing business required for PSN, e.g. selling games to its customers. Now they have proven that they can access PSN and perform functions on it, that means they could easily attack each and every person that has access to it, which is almost every PS3 and PSP user, and delete their account information and if they are online send out an update deleting all local data. Attacking PSN directly isn't attacking its users.
