@24: First, it is more than just a hunk of plastic to slide the wiimote into. It uses the wiimote's expansion port (the nunchuck port) which is how the trigger works. Other features may be included.. Hard to tell until it actually shows up.
Second, ExciteTruck does not include that lame plastic steering wheel thingy. That comes with the two Ubisoft racing games. Perhaps you should learn what the hell you are talking about before you go bashing stuff. Fool.
I've had mixed results, and it always depends on how the wiimote is used. For games that simply use the motion controls without need of the LED sensor bar for pointing at things, I've had no problems at all, and the new control scheme works incredibly well.
For games that use the sensor bar my results are mixed. I'm normally okay so long as the wiimote is being used as a pointer and there is some sort of target on screen (crosshair or mouse pointer type thing). But for games where you have to move the wiimote around like it is a tool (like the whack-a-mole game in Super Monkeyball), it just Does Not Work. Cooking Mama looks like this type of game.
I wonder if it is a matter of other items interfering with the sensor bar? Maybe that is why some people complain about certain Wii games being nearly unplayable due to controls, while others just accuse them of mass suckage.
