Looking at the release schedule for the remainder of the year, it's pretty disappointing. Developers still aren't all in on PSV due to the limited install base, but the PSV can't expand unless it gets good games or a price drop in time for Christmas.

Although it would be a shame for Sony to take an even greater loss on the PSV, I think they may have to in order to give the system some longevity. I don't suspect they'll be able to continue for another generation in the dedicated portable market at this rate.

I hope this means Sega goes back to their vault to re-establish some of their older franchises. They had a lot of talented development back then.

Why are the animations so horrible?

Sure you can. I mean it's not like anyone's claiming they sold out. We're all just celebrating that it's off to a healthier than expected launch.

Exactly. If it's sell through numbers they'll say it's sell through numbers and that's Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony.

I don't know why some people can't seem to understand that for Sony the number shipped is the number they've sold to retailers based on demand.

That they managed to get that much in the time they did is commendable, considering the price point, and a heightened interest in more casual games by consumers and developers.

The real test will be whether or not they can keep content rolling in at a steady pace. The PSP lacked significantly in that capacity and it definitely hurt the handheld (comparatively) in the West.

Pretty good news for Vita.

But Sony seems to have a pretty healthy brand presence overseas. I expect the US numbers to be disappointing.
