Best Things to Buy in January

Jan 1st 2011 5:39PM (Shopping Articles Blog)
Once again AOL uses advertisements as news or as a "consumer report" with specific brand names, products, price, and regular price. It's just an advertisement with an authoritative texture.

Career Changers Choose Teaching

Jul 29th 2009 7:28AM (Careers Articles - Online Degrees)
For Art, PE, and Music teachers, they are valued less because they
are not tested in standardized testing. Layoffs are all over in
Arizona. I am a retired teacher and I loved my career. However, I
work full time as a sub and need another full time job. I can't make
it on my pension--on the $51,000 salary I got--I don't take vacations, don't drink, live frugally.

As usual on AOL, they treat paid advertisements as news. Who ran this
ridiculous ad?

David Letterman and Sarah Palin Feud Grows

Jun 11th 2009 3:42AM (Politics Daily)
The media and all the high profile personalies feed on each other so much that they build their fiction into facts. They did that with Michael Jackson, Dan Quayle, and Sarah Palin. They are always looking for someone to kick around for their own purpose for comedy or a story. It's a timeless, tiring ploy. Same with the sex stories. Who is screwing who. Only the names change. Everyone in the world does the same thing. God! I only care if I'm doing it! Sheesh. Come on! When does all this get old??

Famous Last Words -- Clever Ways to Say Goodbye Forever

Jan 13th 2009 7:18PM (Asylum)
Einsteing had last words that he uttered on his death bed. Unfortunately, the nurse didn't understand German.

One-third of married moms have cheated!

May 12th 2008 2:29AM (ParentDish)
Hey! What if I attack a sacred cow? Get rid of the freakin' TV! Let's see if marriages (and family life) improves.

The five worst US airlines

Jan 21st 2008 12:25AM (Gadling)
There is going to be 10,000 comments on why US Airways sucks; I can make 15 myself. Don't fly this airline. Wait for it to go under and be bought by another. If US Airways can purchase AmericaWest and run it into the ground, maybe somebody else can get rid of the current leadership and get the company flying again.

Pete Rose Swears at Little Kids

Aug 3rd 2007 12:13PM (Fanhouse MLB Blog)
First, I notice the biased headline. "swears AT little kids." That didn't happen. "swears IN FRONT of little kids" did, which is a lot less damaging. It's still not acceptable, but it's not murder (OJ),
it's not steroid use, and it's not worse than the sum total of what children are exposed to on TV. In addition, parents can explain to the children afterwards that it was rude and unnecessary. It does not offset his accomplishments. You are going to persecute a man for using two curse words? WHAT? Are you kidding me? Punish a man with lifetime
achievements, just for language? That's the lesson you want to give youngsters? If you make a mistake that is relatively small, you have a huge price to pay. No wonder young people lie, conceal, don't look for assitance with some of their indiscretions. They imagine huge consequences that adults think is unnecessary. Pete's other issues you can discuss elsewhere and bash him there and
I will remain mute. Today's incident is the language.
