God of War 'Master Collection' spotted on Amazon.de

*Sniffle* I was the Producer/Director/Game Designer/Level Designer for Betrayal when I worked at SOE. I poured my heart and soul into making that game, and it gets no mainstream love... it's all but dismissed by the greater franchise managers at SCEA :( I know it was just a simple mobile game, but it accomplished it's goal of being my vision of "what if" GOW was a 16-bit style side-scroller (crammed into 350k of memory).

I would love nothing more than to see it emulated as a .99 cent download or something on PSN. It doesn't deserve to be treated like it has by the franchise IMOP; it's a true part of the GOW storyline, and was co-written by the console author and approved every step of the way by the GOW dev team (including Jaffe and Barlog) while they were wrapping up development on GOW 2, and while Ready at Dawn was in the middle of Chains of Olympus development.

In fact, my original story outline for the mobile game was to span a series of mobile games, had the level concept for fighting through a level to get to and the over the River Styx (adapted in Chains of Olympus... with no credit given to me), and culminated in a fight with Kratos' brother (unnamed at the time)... sounds sort of familiar, huh? Of course, I never got credited for my contributions when Ready At Dawn released Ghost of Sparta either, even though they built off my high level concept. Totally lame...

Thanks for reading my rant. I may have just burned a few bridges with it. In short, spam SCEA and request an emulated version of Betrayal for PSN!!!!

Invincible Tiger coming in August to XBLA, PSN

I saw this game at GDC last year running in 3D. The game itself is no Tekken, but it is a fun and straight forward beat-em up that's good for wasting time with friends. the 3D effect, if you have the TV, is worth the price alone just to show off what your TV can do. It looks amazing in motion.

Stereoscopic 3D will work on any TV with a 120 mhz referesh rate, if I'm not mistaken. You also must be playing through an HDMI cable. Most HD TV's that have been manufactured in the last 10 months are starting to support 120, and all moving forward (except for off-brand Wal-Mart TV's) will be supporting the higher referesh rate. All HD TV's up to this point only support 60 mhz refresh. Just check the TV box or look up your TV's info on Best Buy's website or something like it.

It gets worse though... depending on what brand of TV you have, you'll need different kinds of 3D glasses. The current Samsung DLP's that support 3D require powered 3D glasses that cost around $100 each, while the new Sony LCD's will work with the same type of stereoscopic 3D glasses you get from the movie theater these days (or about $5 each). However, the entry level price for purchasing a Sony LCD TV is higher than a Samsung DLP of similiar screen size. I have the Samsung 60 inch DLP and I LOVE it, but I don't have the same problem of noticing the "rainbow effect" that some people have when they see a DLP image.

My advice would be to do some research at Best Buy or wherever and compare the overall costs to get yourself up and running with stereoscopic 3D, and which type of display you prefer (LCD/DLP). Plasma's probably work too, but I'm a plasma hater... overrated image quality IMOP.
