The developer here is known for their pickyness in getting things just the way they want them and thus constantly pushing back release. They did it for Ico and SotC as well. Honestly, it's par for the course, so I wouldn't read so much into such a conspiracy. Also, if it produces a game even half as good as those, it's a wait well worth it.

That said, the delay does make me cry tears. :/

Coded takes place after 2, and this takes place after Coded (despite their thus-far unexplained looks). I haven't played Coded yet, so I don't know how their supposed to dovetail.

Yes. Bret Iwan does the voice now. He sounds a little off in Birth by Sleep compared to Wayne Allwine, but it might just be one of those things you get used to over time. (After all, neither Jim MacDonald or Allwine sounded like Disney's original voice for the character, although considering the toll smoking was taking on the poor man's voice there near the end, maybe that's a good thing...)
