I really wish the government would go after the food industry. The FDA allows a lot of preservatives and chemicals in our foods that are banned in a lot of other countries. Processed foods need to be better regulated.
Great point. Not only do these toys pollute, they suck up resources to transport and make. I like the small ice cream cone idea. These places should put puzzles on the boxes or in the bags, and if the kid solves them, reward them with a treat instead of a toy that will be tossed aside within hours of receiving it.
I hate to sound like a tree huger, but I wish these toys would get banned all over the country. They are nothing but junk that waste resources to transport and make. I would have less a problem if they weren't so cheap and worthless these days. Yes, I loved them as a kid, but just like most kids back then, as well as today, I only got an hour two of enjoyment out of them before they ended up being nothing more than another piece of junk at the bottom of my toy box. Sometimes I had more fun with the puzzles and games on the box.
I've never had an issue with the regular packets, ever. To be exact, they come in handy when sitting in a car, eating fries. I can tear the top off just right and dip my fries right into the packet two at a time. This new one looks as if that isn't possible. That's not a big issue anyway, but it was so clean and neat with the old packets and there was no worry of spilling ketchup on anything in the car.
Domino's is one of the worst pizza brands out there these days. Mind you, I don't expect them to be better than my local mom & pop pizza shop, but even Food Lion brand frozen pizza is better. I might give it a try anyway. Hopefully it'll be half way decent.
Sonic(the store with the four hour wait) is a drive in style fast food chain. There really isn't an inside. They have a normal drive-thru, as well as pull in stalls where you order from your car, and a walk up area with metal tables, where you can order from a menu with a speaker. With the later two, your food is brought out to you.
When our first Sonic opened, the line went out into the road, so the police had to put up cones and direct traffic for a few weeks. It was madness, and all for food that really isn't all that great.
That's a trip. We have had this "hot food menu" for a couple of years now at almost all of my local 7-11's here in eastern Va. We've also had a bunch of remodeled stores opening up the past few years as well. Once WaWa came to town to compete with 7-11, Zooms, and Miller Mart, everyone started picking up their game.
The pizza is what you would expect it to be. Not terrible, but not all that great either. It's not worth the price they charge per slice as well. The chicken wings look more like bat wings. Epic fail. The spicy meat pockets aren't bad, but as someone else said, they need some sort of dipping option.
When it comes to food at these sort of places, WaWa has them all beat by leaps and bounds. Zooms isn't far behind. Miller Mart and 7-11 are lagging way behind.
BK has gone way down hill over the years. Their Whoppers no longer have much "Whop" to them at all. The last few times I ate one, the pattie was so thin, that I could hardly taste the meat. I've had $1 value burgers fill me up more than the recent version of the Whopper.
The fired at BK have sucked for over a decade. Their bacon is the worst in all of fast food, and shouldn't even be considered as such. Their tea is terrible! I drink tea with no sugar, so I can really get a good idea of how good one's tea is. The suppliers of BK's tea deserve an Epic Fail Award.
I'll also chime in, and say the the latest BK commercials are pathetic. I don't see how anyone can like that creepy bastard they pass off as Magic Burger King. you have to be short on brain cells to like that guy.
The Mexican joints in the South East and Mid-Atlantic make a Queso dip that kicks major tail. I don't see it much outside the region, and I have yet to find better. It's made out of asadero cheese with jalapenos, poblanos, half & half, onion, cummin, and salt. It's known as crack cheese and trust me, it blows the competition away.
