Halo 3 Brute video
Dec 20th 2006 10:26AM (Joystiq)quoted from:
http://www.bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?cid=9340
"· There are no finished graphics in the documentary, and everything you see is a work in progress. "
and
"You’ll see what amounts in a way to the first glimpse at Campaign content, but don’t get too excited. Everything you see here is a work in progress, and I’m afraid you won’t be seeing anything like finished graphics..."
please dial back the rhetoric (looking at The Intangible Fact).
GRAW 2 producer: don't play Gears for more than ten minutes
Dec 18th 2006 2:40PM (Joystiq)GoW is a great game and deserving of the many very high reviews for no other reason than the perfect implementation of 2 player co-op.
Split screen with a friend at your house or live/network co-op, they are well integrated into the campaign. I can't think any other console game at this time has managed the seamless pop-in/drop-out of a friend in the campaign; but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been annoyed about the lack of these features in previous games.
GRAW2 can be a great game, but for me the bar has been raised in the co-op respect by GoW, and if similar functionality isn't present, that experience will not measure up, and that is what defines a great game: one that raises the bar for games that follow.
New Halo book meets the HD era
Nov 6th 2006 2:38PM (Joystiq Xbox)But I still bought the d@mn thing.
2nd chance, Vision Gold pack for $59
Nov 3rd 2006 4:52PM (Joystiq Xbox)And yes, you can use the 1 year gold card to add to your current accout. When I got the 360 I got it as a bundle, with a 1 year gold card, which I applied to my then current subscription.
Xbox Live members hit the 4 million mark
Oct 19th 2006 5:16PM (Joystiq)"Counting Free Silver accounts is like saying everyone who walks into Gamestop is a customer."
No, the user must have connected their Xbox360 to live at some point to create said silver account. This is no different than a user who will log on to the (free) PS3 online service or gets a weather report from the Wii online weather channel. When those numbers are repoted will there be conditions applied: only those users who've spent $1.85 (or equivliant localized currancy)?
No, it will be user accounts who have logged in.
Multiplayer Double Agent demo
Oct 16th 2006 5:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)by gimping the spy's ability to play aggressively they have restored the original balance to the game.
The spy should not be seen or heard; it's hide-n-seek, or cat-and-mouse, and if you accept that the game plays great. The spys are fast and fluid, and on the demo map I've been able to keep 3 merc's guessing where I am while remote hacking away.
Personally, I really like the change in balance, it rewards the spy for being stealthy.
PS3: component cables sold separately [update 1]
Oct 12th 2006 12:09PM (Joystiq)You should be. How can anyone be encouraged to buy "The console that starts the HD revolution" and not have the HD cables included in the box?
Please engage your critical thinking skills and answer how this is possibly or remotely acceptable. Don't defend this, or point to another example of something else. Answer how this benefits you as a consumer.

they probably don't appreciate the leeching of bandwith, but it's a nice site...
Sony says no, Immersion says yes
Oct 5th 2006 3:27PM (Joystiq)figured out my #4
Splinter Cell (3 I think): you had to pick the lock on your handcuffs at the beginning of the game; without rumble it's really hard to do.
There, and now PS3 back compat. is broken for this game...
Sony says no, Immersion says yes
Oct 5th 2006 3:10PM (Joystiq)"Anyways I doubt anyone here can name 5 games that have actually used rumble to help them in-game"
1 Any driving game on a race track: The ideal path through a corner involves hitting the rumble patch (curb) at the apex of the corner. A rumble controller gives that feedback, and lets me know if I am close to the ideal line, and if I need to move to block cars behind me because I was sloppy through the corner.
2 Any FPS with a less than obvious damage indicator (looking at COD2): When getting shot from out of my direct line of sight the feedback lets me know someone is shooting me and I should probably duck or change direction.
3 Online card game (Uno and Texas Hold'em come to mind): When my turn comes up the rumble of the controller in my hands reminds me I need to do something; useful if I'm distracted by PIP, or real life.
4 Ok, you got me, I don't have a fourth figured out yet...
5 MGS1: who didn't like getting special attention from Dr. Naomi Hunter?
