I've been using my Mac to keep all my school notes on. I take notes on paper in class, then type them up in a Pages document when I get home, and sort all the notes into subject-specific folders. I just downloaded Journler, and I'm going to try using that to see if it works any better. I'm kind of strapped for cash, so I'm not keen on purchasing anything extra to use for school that I don't absolutely need, so this giveaway could be really helpful.
Actualy, OS X Leopard was the first one I used. I got the Mac just after trying out the Windows 7 RC. Even though 7 was SOOOOO much better than Vista, OS X is still the easiest and most fun operating system I've ever used.
I haven't played many puzzle games recently; the main one has been Bejeweled 2 for the iPhone, but I would have to be lying to say that was 'overlooked' by anybody, EVER. Arkanoid DS was pretty fun, and I don't remember a whole lot of fanfare about that (then again, I was overseas, in a place where there wasn't much fanfare for anything at all).
I bought my first Mac just last Friday, because I wanted a computer that I wouldn't have to worry about. My Windows computers were all just one problem after another, and half the time I used them would be trying to figure out what was going wrong *that* time. I tried Ubuntu for a little while, but it was just too...Linux...there were no useful applications (or games) that I wanted to use that would work on a Linux platform. So I bought a 13-inch MacBook Pro, and I LOVE IT! In addition to being so much faster than my 15-inch Gateway (I forgot the name - it was something ridiculous with a bunch of random alphanumeric symbols) running Vista when I first got it. Granted, that was a couple of years ago (3, actually). The Mac also has the most streamlined, elegant UI that I've ever used, a vast change from my world of clunky, slower-than-frozen-molasses XP computer that I used last year at school. And it looks nice, too.
I don't mean to be all fanboyish (although this whole site is about Apple - I don't think anybody here *isn't* a bit fanboy/girlish) but the Mac really is the best computer I have ever used, and I'm more than glad to have made the switch (despite the slightly higher up-front cost).
