I'm not one to start or spread rumors but from what I understand, this "maintenance" is to help stabilize the Live! service for the onslaught of anxious gamers waiting to download the Halo 3 beta which is [supposedly] coming out within the next 2 weeks.

Whether you are a Xbox, PS3 or Wii fanboy, you should be able to find the humor in this. It's quite beautiful and very well executed. I so want to be on Microsoft's marketing/PR team. I hope Sony does something equally as funny because DAMN that's just a WICKED BURN. Good show Microsoft!

Does anyone remember when Microsoft launched Xbox Live, they sent numerous magazines/game sites "Playstation Online Kits"? They consisted of 2 plastic cups connected via a string and some other stuff? I can't find the link or story to it but that was one of the funniest things I read during the last console war.

I think some people are forgetting the big picture here (because they didn't bother reading the actual press release).

The Halo 3 Legendary Edition is a limited COLLECTORS EDITION. Meaning that there won't be crap loads to go around. The Bungie.net weekly update states that these are individually numbered so if you think about it, $130 for a very limited and highly collectible edition of one of the biggest franchises in gaming history is not that much.

For a limited edition COLLECTORS EDITION, $130 is fine in my book. Can't wait to see what other goodies they pack in that box!
