'The Office' Season 7, Episode 1 (Premiere) Recap (VIDEO)

Whoah, why are you getting so hostile about a person reviewing a TV critic? Opinions about opinions aren't supposed to be nice or mean it is supposed to be opinionated. There is no reason to take offense or get angry. I love this show as much as the next person but I also respect alternative viewpoints about alternative viewpoints. Jeez.

"So we get the spanking. That felt so odd and inappropriate, almost as odd and inappropriate as Michael and Dwight kidnapping the pizza delivery kid a few years back, which was a creative low point for the show"

Wha??? You found the pizza delivery kidnap episode a "creative low point"? Sorry, I couldn't ethically continue to read this review after I read that. I just couldn't.

Maybe you'll hit your stride with the next review. Everyone has bad days.

Naughty Dog invents the missing Uncharted chapter at PAX East

@ Grey_Ryuk

Exactly, f*ck the PSP. It single-handedly deprived me of experiencing the only prequel of FF7 that was worth playing - Crisis Core.

When you playing on a 1 nanometer by 1 nanometer screen, even PSX graphics look pretty damn sexy.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light launching this summer for $15

@DeepGray "Near instant health regeneration is realistic now?"

I think it's just as much realistic as conveniently finding a med pack in the depths of a 3000 BC sacrificial tomb. Much less, a state of the med pack art that can apparently cure cuts/bruises/broken arms without any physician assistance whatsoever.

IMO, if we're going to be radically unrealistic, might as well go with the option that reduces back-tracking and allows Tomb Raider's puzzle-solving and dungeon exploration to be more prominent. That's why the Uncharted series is so popular (selling more copies in 5 months than Legends did in 2 years). It's focus on the pursuit of treasure and puzzle-solving allows the narrative to flow more naturally.

The Lara Croft franchise is on it's final legs IMO. Many people no longer find it interesting to crawl around empty dungeons with the occasional enemy to kill.

They really need to "Unchartisize" the series. Get rid of health packs, and make Tomb Raider's fighting more realistic. As much as I love Lara Croft, it shouldn't be so easy for her to kill 3-4 live tigers while doing backflips and jumping jacks at the same time.

MLB 2K10 showcases numbers in 'Stats & Splits' trailer

That's an irrelevant fact. When you're dealing with gladiator sports (where huge masses of bodies are regularly crashing into each other), the amount of body-contact HAS to be short. Else, 90% of the league would be paralyzed. As it is now, most running backs can't play past the age of 30 years old.

Baseball, on the other hand, has a similar "ball-in-play" minute ratio, but there's rarely any heavy body contact (if any body contact at all). And most of the delays are just "traditional down-time" as opposed to absolutely athletically necessary.

It's a shame that baseball is so EURGH. This kind of in-depth stat crunching would be absolutely immaculate in games like Madden and Fifa.

Then again, it's precisely why baseball is so boring and slow that makes it so easy to develop these intricate additions. Most of the time, men are standing in the same spot on the grass, and there are a limited combination of on-field designations (1 OUT, 2 OUT, and 3 OUT + their strike/ball compatriots). It's a programmer's dream.

Heavy Rain banned in United Arab Emirates

Feb 22nd 2010 11:44PM (Joystiq)
It is a bit surprising considering the opulence and excuberance of the UAE. I mean, this is the same country that commisioned the creation of 7+ artificial islands just for the hell of it. Not even Americans are that bold.

UAE is full of contradictions. At times it's extremely worldly and then at others it's rigidly conservative.

But it's not out of the ordinary. Australia actually has more banned games.
