PRisk: Black OPs is beautiful and I promise to care for it always.

Microsoft says it's 'well within legal rights' to ban consoles

Sounds like your cousin needed to learn consequence in his life. If he is so poor, maybe he does not need an Xbox 360. Maybe he should have people around him that do not encourage subversion of the law and instead help him better his life so in the future he can provide for himself.

Review: Assassin's Creed 2

Nov 20th 2009 5:27PM (Joystiq)
Great review, and I agree with it one hundred percent.

I enjoyed the first game, but it really fell flat with me about half way through. I just became bored with it. It was beautiful and introduced some really neat concepts but was not enough to keep me coming back.

I hesitantly picked up Assassins Creed II and have barely touched anything since. I am having almost as much fun running around the world and doing side missions and seeking out all of the secrets as I am interested in continuing the story.

Fantastic sequel that already has be curious for the next one.

Swag Saturday: Guitar Hero triple pack and bass pedal

My favorite Rock & Roll moment has to do with a band featured in this give away; Metallica.

I was fortunate enough to snag tickets to the show they held on New Years Eve 1999, so I got to rock in the new millenium with one of my favorite bands of all time. It was a fantastic show and the crowd was wild, I had stand seats but managed to sneak behind a guard and get to the floor during the first act (Sevendust, who rocked the house).

It took place in the Silverdome in Pontiac MI, just a couple of hours from where I live, I could not believe they decided to hold the show there of all places, I believe someone on high was shining a light on me that year.

Metareview: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Try under "Region and Language" ? I am not entirely sure where it is in Vista, I am using Windows 7 and was on XP before that so I have no experience with Vista, but I know it is similar to 7.

5TH Cell: Scribblenauts' scandalous-looking 'sambo' item is a misunderstanding

Sep 16th 2009 10:42PM (Joystiq)
Never heard of Sambo before this article, but I just had something really weird happen in the game.

I had spawned a watermelon, sambo, and "fig leaved gourd" all three were laying on the ground.

Curious to see what he looked like, I spawned Brandon into the game. He immediately ran for the gourds, the model spazzed out (it looked like he grabbed two of them) did a weird spin up into the sky and disappeared.

I meant no racism in this, I was just trying words mentioned here, and I mean no racism by posting about this, I just thought it was really really odd all things considered.

Check that your keyboard is set to US/EN in the control panel.

Metareview: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

1up kind of burned it there at the end. I am only a couple of hours into the game myself, but I am enjoying it as much or more than I did the original.

I believe Vicarious Visions made a good sequel to a good game. It is hard to do anything ground breaking in this genre, beat 'em ups are just that, and this is a damn good one.

It has been a while since I played the first game, but it feels like the leveling system has been streamlined a bit. Fusions are much more fun than I expected, but I feel like the first game had something similar in it, maybe to a lesser degree or it was limited to certain characters, again it has been a while since I played the first game so my memory is bound to be off.

Pleased with the purchase, it is a great game to tide me through the next few weeks and break up ODST.

Just Cause 2 dev diary is free, free fallin'

Sep 13th 2009 4:37PM (Joystiq)
I am, yes.

I really enjoyed the hell out of the original even if the world was mostly empty and vehicle control was wish-washy. I still spent a lot of time on that island just cruising around and doing stupid stunts.

Looks like all this time they have spent with the sequel is paying off, things look a lot tighter than the first game. I also love that they did not get rid of some of the over the top stuff like the infinite grapple and parachute, but instead embraced it and expanded it.

Bethesda suing Interplay over Fallout MMO

Sep 11th 2009 11:03PM (Joystiq)
I am a huge fan of Fallout and Fallout 2, never really got into Tactics much, I even played Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel on the PS2, which is a really good example of a bad Fallout game.

I personally LOVE Fallout 3. It has the tone and feel of the originals in spades. I always have Fallout 2 installed and play it constantly, but Fallout 3 is a fantastic evolution of the series. It may take away the third person isometric view and replace it with first person, but I am playing the game for the story, people and locales. There are things I would like to see done better, but I think Bethesda has the respect for the series to carry it forward, hiring Obsidian to do the next installment was a good idea and I look forward to that as well as the next "full" game.
