@Ehra The only people who bemoaned his leaving were kool-aid drinkers. He's the reason CO was so bad at launch & the reason STO hasn't really progressed.
No desire to play a game he's involved in, and I was actually excited to STO finally going F2P.
@Graill440 I have to agree... never been happy with a Bethesda game so far. They're doing some absolute crap things here, they sold the IP to Interplay.
Fallout 3 was far from a good game, it totally missed the point of Fallout. I hope they have no rights over FO, otherwise it'll be another buggy piece of trash similar to Skyrim.
@Evilgm One thing I really enjoyed was voting for MVP. Really puts a sense of control over who gets the award & who doesn't. If you're a kickarse healer, you might get it over the person who kills the most. In fact, most of the time the person with the most kills DIDN'T get MVP as they weren't completing objectives.
@edgecrusherO0 It's just FUD being spread by a WoW fanboy.
Having actually played the game, not just making thing up, SWTOR is a serious threat to WoW's player base. While it may not affect revenue, it will definitely affect subscriptions (remember, WoW are really pushing in-game item sales these days).
Recent reports do show that subscriber base has little to no reflection on actual revenue these days when it comes to WoW. They lost 1m players but revenue went up.
I do feel they will feel the pinch once players have to choose "do I play WoW endgame or SWTOR endgame content", which really won't kick in until a month or two after launch. All I can say is watch this space.
@gold163 Eve is hardcore... you're experience with gaming is being betrayed by your ignorance. There's plenty of hardcore games out there, but you haven't played them. One can only assume you're a casual gamer.
@paterah it's kind of annoying really. They want the game to be what they want it to be rather than what the designers intended.
Honestly, if you don't like it, don't play it. If it really gets to you, start your own company & build your own MMO. It's really not that hard, or at least you're portraying it to not be that hard (it is actually).
SWTOR isn't a space combat game, was never intended to be, hell, space combat wasn't even introduced until recently in the alpha/beta. Again, if you don't like it, don't buy the game.
@(Unverified) Yep, I think I only saw one person in game cry about it being a "WoW clone", "too scripted", etc.
Everyone else I played with said they're leaving WoW, Eve, LOTRO, SWG, etc, for TOR. The only people on here I've seen complain are people who weren't in the beta either saying it's crap they didn't get in, or making up bullshit about the game.
I'm really looking forward to launch, Bioware have really outdone themselves with this one, no matter what the "insiders" (FUDers) have been posting.
Any Guild/Raid Leader/Officer should know every class inside & out. Without knowing the capabilities of the classes you are raiding with, you don't know where things are lacking, or what you can do to change your strategy to get the win!
@Dblade Actually, the Cryengine is quite scalable. The reason it doesn't fair so well in Crysis 2 is that they screwed up the water layers in some areas (it was present when there was no water).
Pretty much any engine can be made scalable with a decent team at the helm.
