CoD2 vets have flashbacks in CoD3 multiplayer

Nov 9th 2006 2:23PM (Joystiq)
Yeah a handfull of ps3 games need the update to be playable on the launch system. MS is responsible for those to. Damn you microsoft! Those all were not titles published or created by MS. The bugs were made by the developer and fixed by them. I'm sorry Bill Gates slept with your mom, but everything that is wrong in the world is not thier fault.

Wagoner critical of fed's lack of action

Aug 12th 2006 9:31AM (Autoblog)
As you mention Toyota factories here, don't forget that most Toyota's are till made in Japan and most of it's workforce is still there. Toyota is not under the same burden of healthcare that GM is. The solution you are offering is that GM stop paying great benefits or just shut down american factories and build them overseas, we do have NAFTA after all. The U.S. economy is powered by the spending of it's workforce. If you cut the spending power of one of the largest employee bases, that will be felt by the overall economy. The Government "bailed out" the Airline industry and even the oil industry who now have record profits at the expense of us all. Why not the auto industry? Bush's politics are for sale and they didn't buy. The auto Unions stood against him, while the oil and airline industries are some of his biggest paid supporters. Waggoner sucks but that doesn't mean that the healthcare and fuel cost aren't a problem

Metareview - MotoGP 06 (Xbox 360)

Jun 20th 2006 10:27AM (Joystiq)
I hope people stop rating games based on the demo. If you only played the demo then you haven't actually played the game. The demo is an early build designed to give a general impression of gameplay and can often be different from the final gameplay. I haven't played it but will today, don't care for motorcycle games so I don't really care. I do however like the concept of releasing demos' on live. If demos start to become the final impression of games the companies may not release them until the have a final game (release). If you only played the demo then review the demo and leave the reviewing of the game to people who have actually played it.

Xbox BC not a priority, says Moore

Jun 1st 2006 2:54PM (Joystiq)
I think MS should stop focusing on BC. Panzer wasn't the runaway hit that's being claimed, and if you want to play xbox games buy an xbox. No one has a vested business interest in old games. They should REQUIRE that all xbox games made after a certin day be made BC by the developers. Developers own the code and would be much faster at making it BC. This would relieve confusion at the retail end. If it comes out and it for a MS machine it would be able to be played on the 360. This would help increase cust. base for the developers and make it clearer for the consumer. Nin has been right all along. It has never had BC until aparently the Wii. In fact BC is not a standard and was never done until the ps1. On the business side, no one wants you playing old games. Machines don't make money, software does. If you don't buy the new ones then no money is being made. This is still a business and in the end, it's about making money.

Xbox 360 is April's top selling console

May 17th 2006 2:11PM (Joystiq)
I seem to remember these predictions of doo for the original xbox also. I remeber hearing retailers tell customers not to buy the xbox because they would't be around in a year. here we are years later and you are still predicting the end. Give it up! The xbox is not a tool of the evil empire ms. MS is just a company and the 360 is just a machine. They don't love you any more or less than sony or nin. This is a business to make money and so far the plan seems to be going well. Nin has to be careful because the always have lots of buzz, but not enough business. Judging by the boards, if as many of you who "LOVE" nin had actually bought the products they might have done better last gen. hopefully you will actually stop praying at the alter of nin and actually purchase something this time. I like to see nin do a little better this time.

Xbox 360 is April's top selling console

May 17th 2006 1:56PM (Joystiq)
the # are for the month not since launch. 295k for the month is not bad. Retailers have still not reached saturation in supply either. Price still matters in America and the 360 is outselling the king of consoles (ps2)that is less than half it's price. This has to penetration beyond just the early adopters and into the mainstream market.

Engadget & Joystiq's live coverage of Microsoft's Xbox 360 E3 event

May 9th 2006 4:49PM (Joystiq)
cmon, just admit it. You guys are all a bunch of closet 360 fanboys. You post all of your ridiculous comments to try and hide it, but I can see inside your closet. If you hate the 360 and it's games so much then why post on a thread about the MS press conf? Why not post on a Wii thread? Why even pay attention to the MS press conf. if you hate it sooo much? Deep down inside, your love of the 360 has you afraid that the Wii will fail. It's okay, and Nintendo will be fine.

Bethesda patching Oblivion, lowers cost of future content download

Apr 7th 2006 3:02PM (Joystiq)
This is just testing for microtransactions. No one Knows what the market will hold. The contractor analogy doesn't hold. Someone has to make the content and that person is paid by the company. If companies cannot make money from the downloadable content then they will stop taking highley paid, talented people and assigning them to dead end task. Madden is mostly just an update each year and people line up to pay $50. Put things up as a download and we assume it should be free. I would like it all free. Including the game and the console. However, this is a business not a hobby and business is to make money. If you like it then buy it, if not then don't. Kudos to bethesda for leading the way on DC and taking the bruises along they way.

Achtung! Xbox 360 overheating explained!

Mar 10th 2006 10:54AM (Joystiq Xbox)
My console is often on even when I'm not playing it. I havn't had any problem with heat at all. I wonder if this was a problem with one run of consoles or maybe one particular factory. BTW MS does not actually manufacture the consoles themselves. Would be intersting to know if this problem can be localized or if it is all machines. If it can be localized then you could tell by serial # if your machine has the problem.

IGN gets their hands on a Revolution dev kit

Mar 10th 2006 10:43AM (Joystiq)
Actually no, Thier own financial report showed a revenue loss on the GC. The president of Nintendo has also been quoted as saying " If the Revolution does not sell better than the Gamecube, It will be considered a failure." Nin leaving the console space if the Rev fails is just my speculation. You don't have to make a console to make handhelds. I think nintendo is too important and has too much too offer the industry to be pulled under by a console. The console is an expensive, often money losing business that often favors companies with the deep pockets to afford the losses. I don't want to see another Atari or Sega. I want to see Nin coninue business on thier own terms with thier soul intact.
