At least Grand Theft Auto didn't ripoff anything (maybe).

If you were around during the 8-16bit era, every platformer was a ripoff of Mario or Sonic, and every fighting game was a ripoff of Street Fighter II or Mortal Combat. There were literally hundreds of 'ripoff' games on the shelves in these genres.

Videogames have always ripped off other videogames. I'm not sure why Gameloft gets all the hate for doing what has always been done.

@trunas I've had the wireless headset for 4 years now and have had no big issues. It's only lost connection a couple of times, and the battery still holds a good charge.

Knowing the development and management history of this game, I had to own it no matter how good it was. I was expecting utter garbage based on the reviews, but I've been pleasantly surprised with it so far. It looks and feels very much like Prey, which isn't a bad thing.

It's an example of how not to program and manage a game. To me, owning it is like owning the collapsed Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It's a lesson learned in history.

@Matrixxxx Go here http://www.fsoinstaller.com/ and get the Freespace Open Installer. Run it after you've installed Freespace 2, and select everything. It will download many gigs of data, and then you will have HD graphics, Freespace 1 missions, as well as a dozen or so other mission packs.

@ShadowXIII The worst thing about the Wing Commander movie was there was no excuse for the suck, because Chris Roberts who created Wing Commander wrote and directed it! He must have discovered some good/bad drugs right before he started on the film.

@tendoboy1984 Didn't notice that. Either way, the Ass Creed 1 game is just a port of the DS version, and the Ass Creed 2 game is a 2D game very similar to the 2D Mirror's Edge iOS game. Both are completely linear, unlike the actual Ass Creed series. They might be alright games by themselves, but they are in no way an attempt to bring the actual Ass Creed games to portable devices.

Gameloft deserves it. There are very few companies producing iOS games that have any sort of quality control. Gameloft games might not be original, but they control well, have few bugs, and provide hours of quality gaming at a decent price on iOS.

If 'big' developers want to start making quality iOS version of their games (like Dead Space, or Tiger Woods 12) instead of shit iOS games (like Mass Effect Galaxy, Assassin's Creed, or Resident Evil 4), people will buy the real iOS games instead of Gameloft's copies.

@RX3115 Mass Effect has always had multiple people in your landing party. Why would it ruin the game in any way to have real people be able to control the other members of your landing party?
