VC in Brief: Princess Tomato in Salad Kingdom (NES)
Feb 19th 2010 9:48PM (Joystiq Nintendo)The story is simple, the salad kingdom's princess (tomato) was kidnapped by farmers who are oppresing and harvesting it's people who are totally made up of a variety of vegitables. You play as Sir Cucumber who along with his squire (an apricot I think), and try and save the princess besting your enemies with a game of rock-paper-siccors.
The story and game led me to believe this was created for children just learning how to read, but after playing through it I found some parts were frustrating (mostly due to getting lost or poorly derived clues) that made me think otherwise.
If I had to rate it unbiased, I would give it a fair 8/10 given the year it was created and it's intended audience.
Analyst: Time for another Wii price drop
Feb 18th 2010 11:51AM (Joystiq)The Wii is appealing because it's aimed at a more casual or new gamer and affordable due to using readily avaliable technology (DVDs and last console gen. graphics) making it easy and cheap to produce games for. It's also the Wii's greatest weakness as well, with the ease of production the good to bad game ratio is far greater than Xbox or PS3 titles.
Now if Nintendo could focus more on getting solid 3rd party titles instead of creating new unnecassary prephials (or at least get more games that can utilize them as an optinal way to play), it will at least help overshadow the shovelware issue and make it feel like you did'nt waste $100 on a Wii-Fit for one game.
Rumor: Will Nintendo punk us with the Wii?
Aug 29th 2006 11:24AM (Joystiq)From the what little systems schematics given in the latest issue of Gamepro it really dosent look like it can do what the romur claims. Of course you have to think though, Nintendo has been so secretive about the Wii that they have only been releasing a few meek details every few months. For all we know they could have over a few million units ready to ship at a moments notice to stores around the country.
Either way the way Nintendo has been acting they probably are holding out on a few things to shock and amaze us as well as rough up thier competitors.
