StarCraft 2 may sport semi-LAN solution

Oh good, a new Kotaku piece clarifies, it's not that I won't be able to play single-player if I'm not connected to the internet. I can still "play as guest," which will apparently merely strip out a ton of features and apparently won't let me save any of my progress.

I feel so much better now.

StarCraft 2 may sport semi-LAN solution

@Danny F. -

From a Kotaku piece last week: http://kotaku.com/5342994/upcoming-blizzard-battlenet-feature-draw-from-warcraft-xbox-live-life

First, there's "The Always Connected Experience". StarCraft 2 and Battle.Net are woven into one experience. With the Battle.Net system, your characters and accounts are tied to your email, so you never lose your settings. And much like Steam, you'll always be connected to your friends.

Pardo shows off some screens of the new service in action. In StarCraft 2, you log into the game much like World of Warcraft. There's a launch screen, with news, single player, and multiplayer options. Once you enter the game, you'll always have access to your friends list, even in the single player game.

Sounds to me like you'll have to log in to Battle.net even for single player.

StarCraft 2 may sport semi-LAN solution

Personally, I'm not interested in purchasing a PC game that locks me out if my internet connection happens to go down, or if I simply happen to be in a location without internet.

How ever did Starcraft (I) manage to sell so many copies without such all-important anti-piracy measures. It was a miracle I guess.

Do you have it? Want it, but can't find it?

How about bought two copies, sold one on eBay for $140 to offset the cost of the one I kept.

Is it just me, or does the strange-looking character in the "BIG DOWNLOAD" logo bear a striking resemblance to Strong Sad?

Indeed, Midtown Madness 3 and I wouldn't mind Driv3r, either.
