The DS could help you learn the written language, sure, but for listening it's obviously inferior to an iPod. Not that there is any real software for the DS that actually teaches the spoken language beyond how to say the words and syllables.

Eh, how did the guy break the nylon strap? Nylon is a threaded rope and a rip would be uneven, whereas both ends show blossoming strands that look more or less the same length. Besides, I'm a strong guy, but even the strap on the Wiimote is pretty tough (Nintendo's excellent build standards at work) and after giving it a substantial pull, I'd end up breaking the remote before the strap. So I call bullshit.

Dude, 16:9 display on BF2/2142 means extra view space over those stuck in 4:3 land. Most of us (not me, I'm an angel) though are still stuck using 4:3 and thus more viewable areas for you and I would be considered cheating in the eyes of EA/DICE. Yeah yeah, argue it all you want, that's the reason they gave me when I inquired about it a year ago.

Uh, you can get a decent HD television today for under $1k, in some cases for $600. Yeah, that's still a lot of money, but get a job if you really want one.

A kid who sits in his dorm and plays WoW all damn day, lets his GPA slip because he has to reach the next level is addicted. There's no doubt gaming can be a bad addiction, it's just people need a yardstick to measure it, and you really can't make one for gaming.

Though plain and simple common sense can go a long way...
