@AoE~ To me, Amy Hennig was saying that they've reached another important stepping stone in pushing the envelope with the PS3. I agree with you there will be games that will look and play even better than Uncharted 2. The problem is the dev's commitment and technical knowledge. People have always said the devs have been lacking the technical knowledge to push the PS3 closer to it's potential. Well I think Naughty Dog just dealt with that side of the issue in helping other devs understand how to deal with the PS3 better. Now it's just the Dev's commitment that keeps them from fully tapping into the PS3's power even further. So yes, there will be more better looking games, but not ones that exactly make Uncharted 2 look like doo-doo, lol.
Uncharted 1 still looks better than 90% of what is out there on the PS3. Only games that match it were PS3 exclusives as well. And Uncharted 1 was made in 2007 and we're in 2009 now. I think Uncharted 2 will stand the test of time like Uncharted 1 if anything.
Of course I don't think we've met the full potential of the PS3. I just think Naughty Dog just unlocked the path toward it.
1 Advance wars title has more depth than 30 app games. 1 Disgaea title (DS or PSP) has more replayability than 50 of your app games. Can you honestly tell me one app game that can equate to one DS or PSP game? Or can give me 30 dollars worth of app games that would be as enjoyable as 1 quality DS or PSP game?
App games are for quick fun on the go. They just have the depth and replayability (in terms of hours) as a full fledged game. And where did you get 300 games for ipod from? From what everyone is saying, that sounds like an overinflated number. And the DS/PSP numbers seem underinflated. I can name more than 30 DS games that are worth trying out.
