How much time are you getting out of your games?

Sep 25th 2006 6:10PM (Joystiq)
For the Diehards: Zelda TP or Metroid Prime 3
For the Casuals: Wii Sports

Either way the Nintendo Wii is the console of choice and even those with less cash can come and play...

Rational gamers choose subsidized hardware, all else equal [update 2]

Please - let's have less posts with undefined Latin phrases in the future. That is something I would expect from GSI!

While we're at it - less post less deep introspective opinionated arguements based on hypothetical situations that serve to confuse those flamewar sentiments from the unaware...

The ture bottom line is Caveat Emptor... oops.

Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

I am amazed at how cute the characters are - but yet the fanboys still appreciate the cell shaded - obviously all age inclusive targeted theme? Wow - perhaps all those 360 die hards should take a look at the Gamecube library - they never seem to hestitate calling it juvenile, lame, and kiddie... My how soon we change our tune...

I hope this proves that best graphics does not equal best game... I am still playing Archon and M.U.L.E. and the best cooperative game I've played is Goonies - on the Atari 800!

Touchscreen Starcraft demonstrates how RTS games were meant to be played

A touch screen requires the same travel distance for your finger as a mouse does - you just get to push the screen instead of the mouse button and it "feels" more natural to not have to look/follow a recticle. HOWEVER - if you used a pointing device, like say the wii remote - it would actually shorten the movement distance and time - since you only need to change where you are pointing at (angle of pointer)...

Wii game testers wanted: must have flailing arms

This just sounds like pure Wii-bashing. Has the author tired the gesture controls - I doubt it. I don't reflect on any Wii opinions unless it is preceeded by "When I held the Wii remote in my hand at E3" or something similar to that. I'd bet a hundred bucks that if SONY announced they were changing the PS3 version of the game to only detect tilting of the controller for various moves the author would rave about how this new approach was better than sliced bread! Besides, both Microsoft and Sony will have there own versions of motion sensitive controls within the next 5 years or so, since it is the only true next-gen... just wait and see (I know somebody out there remembers the Dual Shock...?).
