When you bear in mind that around 75% of all Wii advertising in japan had images of Wii Sports it becomes unsuprising that it saw a great attach rate (even compared to Zelda) . Advertising for 3rd party games was non existent. 3rd parties will be pleased to note however that worldwide around a million Wii's are in circulation now meaning that there is plenty of potential for games which get good word of mouth to become sleeper hits - I'm thinking Elebits could definately do that in Japan
Yeah I can really see this game going multi platform with just a few minor tweaks to make up for the PS3's limited motion control and restrictive controller shape. 'Limited tweaks' such as setting the game in the stone age and replacing the katana swords with big rocks so you can hold them with both hands and bash each other with. I think I heard its going to be called Red Stone.
Sony Sony Sony - has there ever been a company with so much mouth and so little trouser.
This reminds me of the N64. Nintendo delayed and delayed until they were ready and then released it when miyamoto's masterpiece was finished. It was a fantastic console with loyal following but could never break ground against a competent if comparatively unsophisticated competitor.
I expect that the PS3 will be profitable in time, but may never recover from this against a brash well established 360 and an intriguing new concept driven Nintendo machine - both of which will be substantialy cheaper.
Come on now #19 surely the fact that a hackneyed old developer with a 'super' generic game is only going to implement 97% reliable controls on a graphicaly below par game(on Wii)can't be your number one reason not to buy this machine. Surely you mean it won't match your Playstation tatoo.
#17 If only more things brought to mind 'Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.' The world would be a much better place, I think we all agree.
Oh and YES - it is really better that you twist your wrist in order to open a door as opposed to merely pressing a button - Duh its called interactive entertainment
